GMC Forum _ Techniques (Muris) _ Cool Sounds Lesson Request

Posted by: Darfuria Nov 29 2008, 09:36 PM

I've noticed in a couple of your videos you add some cool sound touches to your licks.

In your Advanced Phrygian Soloing lesson between 19 and 22 seconds you do a cool harmonic slide whilst hammering and pulling. In your Junk Medley video you do a similar thing.

I think it'd be a cool idea to have a lesson on a few cool sounding touches we can add to licks.

Yeah maybe a lesson with all kinds of ''special tricks'' on the guitar like:

-Those harmonic slides while hammer on/pull of
-Divebombs
-Whammy Harmonics
-Toggle swith killswitching
-pick scrapes
-Guitar Scratching Tom Morello Style
-open string harmonic slides
-rake bending
-tap harmonics
-Pinch harmonic squeals

...and so on

Great idea. biggrin.gif

... and/or maybe a lesson just about slides between the different licks, I'm really struggling with these. mellow.gif

The slides add so much more colour to the licks, and it just makes them more interesting. smile.gif

Sliding is a cool effect but the way I see it it's also a part of the lick,
you can't just separate it from the licks to have it like kind a connection tool,
if you know what I mean. smile.gif
