Hey guys and girls,

I'm not going to be very active on GMC for the next month or so in a few days as my health has been really bad for the last few months. It all raged to a peak yesterday and I was in hospital due to having a minor heart attack although it was mainly a major anxiety attack I think to be honest and the doctor said I have to calm down and have rest otherwise I could permanently damage my life. So he has signed me off work for a number of weeks to recover and to relax and not get stressed or depressed. I need to take it easy.

I love it here at GMC and I promise I will try and get on as much as possible but I will be away for all of August I'd think. I hope you welcome me back in September when hopefully my health has improved.

Keep practicing hard and I will be round for next few weeks but then it is a big break for me.

Cheers Everyone,
OC

Was it diagnosed as a HA? I know about anxiety attacks. When I was younger I had them, but got over it. You can feel like your are going to die, very frightening. But it sounds like this was a real physical issue from what you said. If it is just anxiety, as I said, you can get over it. I did. But it can take awhile. I did not take any medication to help me, just did it myself, getting over it. Mostly by exercise I think.

They said it was a minor heart attack but doctors are useless round here. I think it was a major anxiety attack that stopped me from breathing normally and I couldn't control my body. I've had minor ones before but this was totally different. It scared the hell out of my friend apparently sad.gif

well if I were you, I would make that you get definitely satisfied that you have a correct diagnosis. i mean, for HA there should be some physical indication. I don't doubt that you may not have had the best people helping you.

if you can be satisfied that you have no real physical problem with the heart, I suggest a daily exercise. but you need a clean bill of health before you start that, that you have have confidence in your body, or at least no that it is rational to have confidence in your body. Good exercise will really burn out a lot of anxiety. If I ever stop for a few days, I really can tell the difference. In general, I never miss more than one day, and most of the time exercise every day. It really helps to keep your anxiety level down.

Anyway, a lot of people go through stuff like this sometime in their life, even if they don't tell anybody about it. Being a human can be tough at times.

I have a list of things to get done and then it is a short break for me. I need to secure a house for next year as we are out of current place in 4 weeks. Finish my 1st year Engineering Doctorate Industrial report. Play 2 huge gigs with my band, get on better with my house mates and friends, sort out problems with other health issues like my eyes. I have a long list that the doctor said they need to be off my mind to fully relax and he said the gym is a good idea to get exercise. I'm almost certain it wasn't my heart. I had chest pains but I don't think it was my heart but I'm having tests this week to further diagnose smile.gif

I have a lot on my mind but I'm going to get better. I am a strong person on the whole. I'm going to get back to my best. All my friends here are helping me get better and I have my friends on GMC also to help out smile.gif

In September I'm going to get back on stage again and be better than ever. We will complete our album and I will be in better health. smile.gif

If I don't get better then I am just going to hurt myself permanently. That can't happen.

Hey OC! Sorry to hear that... if it makes you feel better, anxiety or panic attacks are pretty common nowadays, and I can see that you have had a lot of things going on lately... my two cents would be, RELAX, try to workout a little bit if you don't, and remember that although the feeling is awful, anxiety attacks rarely result in serious health problems. We will be waiting for you dude!!!!!!

Juan

Good luck OC!!

I'm going skydiving next week and scuba diving biggrin.gif. I wish I hadn't asked to be in the charity bungee jumping biggrin.gif

haha. Not really tongue.gif I best stay in bed. The most I will be doing is going on leisurely walks in the country and staying away from alcohol. I think I'm going on a mini camping holiday with my acoustic in the lakes here in UK smile.gif

I will come back with a load of depressing folk songs smile.gif Maybe a little Acoustic Jazz also smile.gif

I have about 6 weeks off to relax and then I'm back so I need to be better before then.
