Somehow I wrote, recorded, mixed, and mastered this in about 36 hours. Came out pretty well I think, I'm quite happy and I hope you guys will dig it.

For any one who has seen these other uploads of mine prefixed with "Interval X", this is continuing that same little sci-fi bit. Nothing too complex like the other ones, this is basically all out war.

Also, I recorded probably my stupidest solo yet in this one. Its somewhere between 05:00 - 05:10. It sounds like angry nintendo nonsense or something, but I quite enjoy playing it.

Parallel Infinities, Interval 7:
The Silhouette Of A Star Descending
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

The Pariah Structure
Everything that is
Will be my weapon
Everything that was
Will be my motives
I will create
Just to destroy
I am the new
Harbinger of your death

I will create the skies
Just to bring them down upon you
I will form the stars
Just to burn you with their light

The Swarm
Existence is our enemy
And you are the last
Your meager predecessors failed
They have never seen our purest forms

We will destroy your skies
Crack them open wide
We will consume your stars
Starve you of light

The Pariah Structure
You are but mere machines
A defect of Von-Neuman
Simple self preservation
No emotional prerogatives

You can never grasp
my deepest intentions
You can never see
Where my mind ventures

The Swarm
We are the absolute end
We are the indefinite death
The absolute zero point
Of all things organic

Cyclical operations in galactic espionage

The Pariah Structure
I will create the skies
Just to bring them down upon you
I will form the stars
Just to burn you with their light

One thousand years just to take a breath
Two thousand more to slowly exhale
All knowing, all seeing, never ending consciousness
Eternal amorphous paradigm shift

The Swarm
Pathetic waste of energy
This will now come to an end
Spinning quasars gamma ray bursts
Vomiting forth hypernova stars

I will see you burnt alive
In churning waves of nuclear flames
I will see your constructs die
To our dark matter cities

The Swarm + The Pariah Structure
I will bring your demise
In galactic waves of immeasurable death
I will bring the end
To all of your worlds
I will bring your demise
In gravity impossibly dense
I will bring the end
To your universe

Kickass! Some very cool riffs. Your audio quality now is a bazillion times better than it used to be, although the lead sounds more digital than the riffs.

Nevermore inspired? wink.gif Very cool song! smile.gif

Thanks for the words!

Musically I'm not sure where the inspiration came from, mostly I got most of these ideas when I was messing around with new tones. This just kind of came together.

You don't cease to surprise me, although this is not my favorite music, but excellent track ! That Nick Crow samples are awesome.
Drums ?

The guitars on this are actually direct from my PODX3, Drums are Steven Slate.

Interesting stuff. See...how do you get your stuff to sound that good? You know how much my quality sucks. So how do I do it? laugh.gif

Honestly, I hadn't used my PODX3 mostly cause I was having major software issues with it, and just kind of gave up for a few months - It always crashed my computer. About a week ago I did 3 months worth of updates and it has been running great, spent about 3 days just messing with it to get a good tone - then I began messing with effects to beef up the sound and give it some atmosphere. I finally tried a light effect, which was only mixed about 30-35% and was just discernible when you played.

Once it was quadtracked, it would really strengthen the effect, and it worked. Its all about experimentation and trusting your ears, the best thing to do is find a tone you like from a favorite band, and try to mimic it on your POD as a starting point, then tweak it however you want.

Here is the tone I used on the recording, if you want you can try it out and see how it works. It's made using a Dean 7 String with seymour duncan's and aimed at thick single notes and chordal clarity in low tunings, it might provide a good starting point.

Trying to open up the X3 file with Pod Farm isn't going to work - they're not compatible.
