Alright guys, lets get this thing going. I would like to start with getting the Rhythm/Keys but all can upload at will! 
Let's get the audio nailed down and then work on the video.
Rhythm Guitar
Chast,Xicoria: intro and first verse/chorus
Superize,Kaz: second verse/chorus
Wollace03,Sense: third verse/chorus
skennington: outro for solo's
Key's
Siggum
Matt23
Lead Guitar
Outlaw2112,Pizzaoro: 25 sec each during intro (51 seconds long)
Botoxfox,Nick325: (solo begins at 2:59 and ends at 3:47, this gives them roughly 23 sec ea)
tjchep,DeepRoots,Tolek,Enucleation: (solo's during outro beginning at 4:44 and extending it to 6:20, this would give each 24 sec.
Vocals
Caelum: first verse/chorus, backing vocals on second chorus
JeroneKole: second verse/chorus, backing vocals on first chorus
split the third verse and both sing chorus

Ill wait til the rhythm is laid down and then add my solo... I did the first 25 seconds for my solo
Sounds like the instructors are way ahead of us...
Would it be better to upload where i want the solo to start and upload the solo only on here and have one person edit it all together

Ill upload my solo over the original song and then upload the solo by it self and let you know where to add it when editing it

Upload it with and without the backing. you can use the original if you like. I'll mix in the take without the backing.

Ok heres my take on it
the solo starts right after the first note is played in the main riff..
there is a small echo ill have to remove... cant hear it in the solo with the backing track but with the solo alone you can hear it at the end of the last lick... should i remove it or is it noticeable

I think it will be ok John. I'll put a slight fade on it in the mix.

This is my take. I did a clean run on verse and chorus. Feel free to add any FX and effects to the guitar part and mix it.
I didn't include this recording with backing track because I don't really know where is the 3rd Verse and Chorus will be in this extended song. Thank you, Skennington!

OK guys, didn't want to set a deadline but the instructors are all most done so we need to get a move on things.
Deadline for rhythm sections, (10-07-08) This gives you guys a week so hopefully you have been working on it a bit 
If you are having problems, just say so and we will work it out. We need to get the complete rhythm track together so the lead guys can work on their solo's.
You guys working on the key's, It would be nice to have these takes by then as well.
Let's get this one put together and see how it turns out!!

Can someone pls choose between my V1 and V2?
EDIT: I just heared, V2 is better. Still pls choose one, but not just on quality, choose whether you just like the classic lick, or the little twist I gave it. Also On V2 i played on a bit to far, I'll edit that when uploading the guitar only mp3.

Hi guys,
Heres a rough mix of what we have so far... I feel we probably need to all get on the same page with regards to the tone. We don't need to sound exactly like each other, but if were close, the song will flow much better. Here's what I would like to do... If you guys don't want to record again, then I'll work with what we have.
Skillet..Tone is great man and timing is also so I think I;m good with you're take. I added the intro up til you began the verse.
Kaz... I would like to have a little more drive out of your take. I added some effects but I'm limited with what Reaper comes with. I have no add-ons.I'll be adding more of your take also. Timing is good
SensE.. I appreciate the clean take, but as I said, I'm limited to the effects I have. I tried to do what I could with it. If I could get a take from you with some drive, it would be great!
Superize.. I think your guitar may be a tadge out of tune man..maybe just me but you guys have a listen and see. Also, I would like to have the bridge section in your take as well. If not, then I'll add it. Timing is good.
Wollace03... Little more drive and I'm good to go with your take.
As for myself.... Still need to tighten the timing up a bit and throw some ideas at the end section for the guys to solo over. Think I need to take a little chorus off as well.
So let's discuss and put this one to bed... Thank you for participating in this guys!
I also went ahead and put in Outlaw's opening solo, added some sections here and there so you can see where we need to fill the gaps.

their all 1 take tracks as I havnt got time to do it anymore, got my drummer to record for our song now
i have a cold so it sounds a bit stuffy, ive taken all the effects off the track without backing so its a dry take but i did edit the track with backing.

OK, sounds good and I am very happy that things are moving along
The track mix sounds great, except for the vocals. Not that the vocals sound bad it is just the timing. They are way in front of the mix. Almost like it was recorded with the tempo of another track. I think we need to fix this . If you need help just ask bro.
If I understand your mix right you want my solo at around 2:57 - 3:45 or there about. If not please let me know because I wanted to cut my final track tomorrow. If you need anything else just let me know.

I use my camcorder as microphone. So I get not a really good audio quality plus I can´t get rid of the backinf track.

I had a little thingy about the singing, I think the verse is sang very nice, but on the chorus I'd like it more like Smoooooooke on the waaaater and not smoooke on the waaaateeeeer. Does anyone understand that??

I understand you guys on the vocals. However, this is a cover and opinions will vary. I think Munta put his own spin on the song which IMO, is better than just singing it the way the original goes. There again, opinions will vary.
@ Tolek, go ahead and record a take man. Can you give me the audio file along with video? Maybe use some headphones in order to not record the backing?

infact... you can hear the difference from what i uploaded to the one included in the mix... when did that happen :S

Humm.... I did move track around a little but didn't cut any of the vocals. Munta, if you don't mind, could you upload the file that you have on your laptop. I will put it in the mix and see what I'm missing..

The backing track is very tight and things are mixed very well. The only thing that I don't like (which I didn't from the start is the ending symbol crashes) and I know that's a small thing to pick at. It just kills my ear and I reach for the volume knob. What do you think?
Others have submitted there solo's but if you still need something I'm here. I have another project I'm getting ready to work on that requires tuning down a half step and a different setup for my guitar so I would like to know before doing that. Should be in about a week.

easy fix if you guys want them removed. How bout a big explosion sound effect...lol I have quite a few of those.. And your tunning down? Man, Christmas must be around the corner..

You can start at around 5:07 And when you render, give me a copy with backing too so I'll know where you want it in the mix. You only need to render your particular time selection. (Custom)

I listened to it and like it... but i was alot slower than i am now... its good to see how much ive progressed since then...
I was goofin around with it while i was listening to it and added something i thought sounded cool, then i added another improv to it... I also made the bridge sound more metal... these are just ideas that popped in my head, i only recorded a little take on it... you can scratch them or use them if you want.... just thought id post them though
I can clean them up if you like them... just ideas
also the second part of my first solo sounds like it needs to be moved a little

Actually, yes Tolek. I have been watching and following what the Instructors are doing as to roll our version out around the same time as they do. They are going for a full feature video. Read about it

It would be tough to organize form my end with limited video editing software but I would be willing to give it a try!

We have a lot of new members since this thing started so I'd liked to give anyone interested a shot. Deal is, we have room for 3 to 4 more solo's. They need to be around 20 sec's in length.
Have a listen to the track, starting at 5:23 up til 6:28. At 20 sec's, I could fit 3 in here. Could possibly fit one more elsewhere. Hope some of you decide to jump in, first come, first served!

I don't think our cover gets better by adding more and more solos... For non-guitarists it can be really akward to hear nothing but solo!
