I'd start with the 101 lessons. That should give you a good place to start. I also like the chord lessons - they are in all of the different keys. In addition to brush up on your music theory - view Andrew's posts - especially the click here to start post that has links to other theory posts.

Also make sure you play to a metronome. Use the search feature to find a lesson that interests you and jam out to the backing track.

Overall just make sure to practice and enjoy yourself!

ok dreadlocks try to learn first how to pick slowly with pick so choose an a simple exercise for example 1.2.3.4 frets and downstrok upstrok with fingers 1-2-3-4 then do it again starting frets 3.4.5.6 same serial fingers then frets 5.6.7.8.9 7.8.9.10 9.10.11.12 12.13.14.15
15.16.17.18 17.18.19.20 to cover all the fretboard
have a nice day

Decide what kind of music you want to play and search on the site for all begginers lessons. Then find the lessons that are genre related to you. The most important things for you (if you are transfering to a plectrum) are the alternate picking lessons. Find something easy and practise with a pick slowly.

Hi dreadlocks,
+1 for practice slowly and also use a metronome if you don't already.

Cheers,
Tony

A metronome is both great because it can help you to learn to play in time (and helps in understanding note duration) and also because it can help you gauge your progress for things like speed picking Dreadlocks smile.gif . One of the BIG mistakes I made when first learning was playing without a metronome. I had to go back and learn how to play in time.

Cheers,
Tony
