please someone find me a set of string for which the top 2 strings do not break >:<

i just spent my last money on a set that brian may uses only to find that if i bend 3 semitones it snaps.

now i have no guitars with a complete set of strings, thats my practicing out of commission for a bit.

what i need is a medium to light gauge string that is unbreakable, like titanium or that metal that wolverine uses.

cost is not an issue if it means stopping spending 10 pound every few days just because rocking is in my soul.

I bend my strings like a madman andI've never broken any strings. I use D'addario xl's 9-42. you should give em a try.

I sweat a lot from my hands - and therefore break a lot of strings. If this is the case for you - I can really recommend wiping the strings and hands with a dry cloth as often as possible, this really prolongues string life.

There is nothing I hate as much as spending time on changing strings... >:<

There are gore-tex strings to buy (really!) - but they cost quite a bit.

I don't know if this is the case, but this was a problem for me so, check your bridge on your guitar, my epi lp had very rough finish, so the first year, i broke like 2-3 strings A WEEK.

I suggest going to a thicker gauge string (10's or 11's) and get your saddles dressed up.
I bend up to 4 frets with vibrato while holding and do not pop strings. When strings get to where they have been stretched to the max, and then you do a fast full bend they will break.

I use a new set of strings everyday when I am gigging 4 or 5 nites a week. We normally play (4) 45 minute sets, or (2) 90 minute sets. So normally after this my strings are dead.

Good luck,
Darrell-

Maybe it's time for a set up, I'm sure a truss rod adjustment is needed.

I bought the 9-42 Yngwie Malmsteen Sig. Set by Dean Markley, and after bending like crazy the only reason they broke was from my heavy floyd abuse, and they're cheap too. Maybe you should try those?

lol people don't even know Sam Totman's name.

I suggest D'addario string too, I use them(the 9.5-44's) and they are very tough, and sound good. I also use DR's(10-52) and they are just as tough, but sound a little better(probably because of the thicker gauge).

I use D'Addario EXL120 (9-42) - and doing crazy stuff with them - you know the Vai's whammy bar tricks and never broke even one string!
