GMC Forum _ Uploads _ New Thingy

Posted by: steve25 Oct 2 2008, 05:51 PM

Hi guys. I've never actuall uploaded original songs i'm working on i don't think so this will be a first for me. Basically i'm working on 2 songs. 1 so far i'm quite happy with and the other is hmm okish. This is the hmm okish 1. Of course this isn't a finished track far from it. The other 1 is very different style wise to this so hopefully i'll upload that eventually.

Anyway feedback would be good. Obviously i'm looking mainly for how i can improve on what i have so far. Any tips production wise is also welcome however bare in mind there's been like no mixing done. They've just been tracked and thats it its just guitar no other instruments.

Cheers for any feedback that you give smile.gif

Nice composition  smile.gif
It will be great after other instruments are added.
Keep in mind that how good the track will depend on other instruments for a great extent.

Nice metal riffs there, they are begging for some drums and a solo!

Cheers guys smile.gif. I've actually bought a midi keyboard recently, pretty good deal which will allow me to experiment with different stuff. As my current setup and budget doesn't allow me use much more than guitar, so hopefulyl when i get that i should be able to lay down more instruments.

Sounds good Steve. I'm board here at work so thought I'd add a little drums. Hope you don't mind.. smile.gif

Oh Well...You must have this track encrypted or something.. laugh.gif Can't seem to render but the first few seconds. blink.gif

The riffs are great, and I like the panning.
It's hard to give mixing advices since there's only guitar here, but I like the riffs and so far it's a great beginning of a heavy song biggrin.gif

Looking forward to hear more!

Sken - No, that is quite odd. Perhaps if you send me the drum track i can put it in cubase and upload here? smile.gif

Thanks Marcus. I just wanted to experiment with different time signatures and scales and this was the result so far biggrin.gif

ok smile.gif
I don't really get the time signature. Is it 3/4 for 7 bars... and then 4/4 for one bar? (and so on)

Posted by: steve25 Oct 2 2008, 07:16 PM

Its 3/4 for 3 bars, 2/4 for 1 bar, 3/4 for 7 bars, 2/2 for 1 bar again, 3/4 for 4 bars then 4/4 until the end

Sounds great, and I like the panning in the beginning.I can imagine how it would sound with drums and bass, vocals.
Great tune man,keep it up.smile.gif

Sounds great mate, riffs are nice and tight. The preset is also good not too buzzy and sounds smooth.

I would slowly now add some drums for starters to see how it sounds. So that is my suggestion. Then you will have a more clearer image how the tune will develop. Cheers mate
