Hey dudes, so this question is for everyone, most of life i have been recording guitar with digital equipment, i never tried to actually put a mic on a cab, so my question really is, what's a good mic to start practicing my micing techniques.

i know the obvious answer is the sure 57, but i don't know, to my ears it sounds a bit harsh?, anyway, i would love to hear some suggestions smile.gif

Sm 57, Senheiser 609, AKG 421 and Neumman TLM103 are the mics that I have used for my band's last album guitars. Each one has its own characteristic sound so I combined them. However If I have to choose only one I would go for the SM57.
