Hi
I need a small help.
I am playing some chords with a mini bar, fretting high e and b strings with my index finger and thumb fretting low e. While I can play it on my PRS I am struggling playing it on my Strat from the 7th fret or higher in the neck.
I know it can be the way the Strat is (badly) set up but could it be something else?

Thanks in advance,
Regards
Carmine

Hi Carmine, it could be because a lot of Strats have a compound radius so the neck feels slightly round.. higher in the middle and lower at the edges (at least that's what they always felt like to me..)

I could be wrong, somebody please correct me if I am.. wink.gif

Only the Deluxe Strats that have the compound radius. It sounds like a setup issue, but off the top of my head I can think of two other reasons why you find it more difficult to play on the Strat - it could have different sized frets and a different neck profile than your PRS.

Personally, I find it difficult to properly finger barre chords with small frets. Like me, you might also be adept at playing with larger frets.
