Ok. Choose 4 bands that you listen to regularly that we may not be aware of in different genres. This is a great way to learn more and give links to the 4 bands on Myspace or elsewhere smile.gif. If everybody can learn about 1 new band from this it is a success smile.gif

A Silver Mt. Zion - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-obKx7i15M (This song brings tears sad.gif It's not supposed to be a sad song but a message of hope and it's beautiful)
Trouble - http://www.myspace.com/troublechicago (The song at the bottom B******* Will Pay)
Ozric Tentacles - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4hN4VfK6LU (psychodelic)
Rumplestiltskingrinder - http://www.rumpelstiltskingrinder.com/html/mp3.html (1st track)

1: winterlong; found them on emusic, liked them alot. kind of progressive power metal.
2: threshhold; progressive metal; a little more well known, still very good.
3: kenny olsen/ the flask; a friend of mine, as well as the only good thing to ever come out of kid rocks band, one of my biggest influences, as well as a very nice person and a hell of a guitar player, this is hendrix influenced rock, with an emphasis on the rock!
4:robin trower; the blues rock legend himself, if you dont know who he is i cant explain. tongue.gif

Destroyer 666- One of the few Black/Thrash band that I like. There stuff is pretty killer. Combining the harsh aggression of thrash and the cold, hatred atmosphere and lyrics of black metal.

Daylight Dies- A very depressing and melancholy band. I've always liked bands that can can create these kinds of feelings, and not just in lyrics. Thanks Uncreator. rolleyes.gif

Soundgarden- Well, I know most of you already know em. I love the album Superunkown. Soundgarden is some of the best Stoner/Grunge bands that have ever formed. Simple riffs accompanied by simple drum beats. Chris Cornell is one of the best singers in rock.

Taake Some of the purest form of Black Metal out there. The production is surprisingly clear, yet the essence of pure Black Metal is still there. I recommend it to anyone who wish to get deeper into Black Metal. The vocals are of tortured soul, tremolo riffs are some of the best ive ever heard, and the blast beats are phenomenal.

I would tell you about Opeth, etc, but I'm sure almost everyone knows about them, so..

Katatonia - They were pioneers in doom metal, and now they make really awesome depressive rock. Most of you know about them I'm sure, but if you don't you need to check this band out.
-
Novembre - A metal band from Italy. I don't know what genre they are, but I've heard "progressive doom metal" quite a lot, even though I don't really see so much doom in their latest albums. Anyways, they are really unique and amazing, and you need to check them out.

Bloodbath - Ok, I'm sure most of you know about Bloodbath aswell, but they are so awesome it's worth posting. It's basically Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström's (from Katatonia) band, but Dan Swanö used to be in it and Mikael Åkerfeldt has been on 3 of their records, and some other "celeberities" (Ok, just Peter Tätgren (from Hypocrisy and Pain) and MArtin Axenroth from Opeth).

Memfis A swedish progressive metal band. They are quite new, and really promising. Check them out!

EDIT: Aaaw, s***, I only wrote about metal bands sleep.gif I need to add comus, haha

Tourniquet: 80's Thrash act that touched pretty much no ones radar, Discovered them about 1.5 - 2 years ago, Love there riffs, there lyrics are deep and meaningful, and the solos are wicked cool.

Nocturnus: Progressive Death Metal band that formed very close to where I live, Awesome off the wall riffs, demonic vocals, atmospheric keyboards, and one of the first Death Metal bands to use them (maybe even the first ever). Great solos, vocals, drums, bass everything.

Unexpect: Amazing Metal band with elements from Prog, Death, Power, Symphonic, Combines into one of the most unique musical visions out there.

Quo Vadis: Insane Melodic Death Metal band, Every player from the singer, drummer, guitarists, and bassists have a phenomenal amount of control over there instruments, Easily one of the best shows you can see live too!
