I think you have it very clear in your head what you want. And that's important. Now you only have to stick to it. I think starting with the riffs then licks then solos is a good idea.
Maybe in the process learn solos from AC DC IF that motivates you. I personally learned all Metallica, some Megadeth, Pantera, Sepultura. Then moved on to Marty Friedman, Vai, Satriani, etc. -------------------- Visit my:
