Em Chord In Nothing Else Matters Options

Hey Guys,

im practicing the Nothing Else Matters Lesson since a few days.
Now I reached the 53th beat where you have to use an "Em" (0-7-9-9-8/7).
But I've big problems with pick this chord.
Does somebody have a hint how i have to use me left hand.
In the video it's hard to see.

Hi MLoy,

Put your first (index) finger on the 7th fret over all strings except the low E string. You can then use your second (middle) finger for 8th fret on 2nd string, 3rd and 4th fingers for 9th fret on 4th and 3rd strings.

This barre chord technique can take a while to get used to, but an invaluable tool for playing chords all over the neck.

Things to do when practicing barre chords

1) Make sure your thumb is on the back of the neck, not poking over the top.

2)Practice just making the barre with your index finger, put your index finger on the fret and then roll it back so the side of your finger is against the string (that's the part of the finger you want to make contact)

3) Play each string separately and make sure the note rings clearly

4) add the rest of the fingers to form the chord and, again play each string separately.

5) Check your hand for tension, only use as much force to press the string down to the fret, don't use a vice-like grip!
