So, imagine you've got a major birthday coming up and you had no constraints of the cash front...
Who would you get to play - alive, not dead - and where?
For me, I want -
1. Vintage Trouble
2. Jeff Lang
3. #1 and #2 jamming audience requests with the Stones
...and I want it to happen on New Year's Eve at my dead grandparent's house on the South Coast of Sydney. Sun, surf and good rock'n'roll.
What's yours? Why? Post vids!
Z.
Awesome thread!
I would get Red Hot Chili Peppers to play and join them on stage and play a few songs together
For the location, this would be great :
....or this
For me .... I would have Pantera (since it's a fantasy, I can wish for Dime to be here with us), Audioslave, Incubus and in order to have a REAL birthday bash - a supergroup that has Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Jeff Beck and James Brown and Steve Lukather and Guthrie Govan and Mike Portnoy and as a bass player, I think that Stu Hamm would fit the bill.
Story of the year / Greek Fire
Paul Gilbert / Andy Timmons (with private lessons inc)
I've got my 40th in 10 days so if you guys want to arrange the above for me
3 Day Festival at the local amphitheater:
Day 1: Local bands, then 7 Dust opens for Ozzy (free booze and Grilled Hotdogs and Burgers)
Day 2: Local bands, then ShineDown opens for Foo Fighters (free booze and Hawaiian Luau)
Day 3: Local Bands, then Stone Sour opens for Tool (free booze and Grilled and Fried Seafood)
The rest of the week would be spent in the Intensive Care Unit at the local hospital.
Jam party
On guitar Andy Timmons, Guthrie Govan & Paul Gilbert
On drums Marco Minneman, Thomas Lang & Mike Portnoy
On bass Bryan Beller, Victor Wooten & Billy Sheehan
But why stop there?
On guitar again: Richie Kotzen, Steve Lukather, Neil Zaza, Justin Derrico, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Greg Howe, Jeff Beck, Vinnie Moore, Marco Sfogli, Andy Wood, Mr. Fastfinger, Kiko Loureiro & Andy James
I'll think that'll do for one great evening
Plus i'll play 30000000 times better than I do at the moment so I'll be able to jam with these great guys
I will have a G3 with Andy Timmons, Petrucci and........ of course me
alive or dead?
for ambient overture - (imaginary conglomerate supergroup) Fantomas/Gobin
opening act - Serpent Cult
next up - David Vincent era Morbid Angel
intermission - the original line up of the band Coven performing the classic 13 minute Black Mass
main event - Type O Negative (its my fantasy birthday so topless goth chick backup dancers)
close with a monologue duel by Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, and William Shatner
all backed by a seven story video screen showing an hours-long music video directed by F.W. Murnau
