Does Anybody Own A 5150/6505 Cab?

I have never played through one and was curious what peoples opinions are of it. I was gonna hold off and get a Marshall 1960 with G12T-75's, but this is a pretty good deal. Thoughts anyone? They are not bad, the tone is quite similar to the Marshall 1960 with g12-75s I would say but it really depends on the amp you are going to use it with because some amp/cab combinations just don't seem to work out! Best thing would be testing your amp on both cabs in a store and then decide - although my personal recommendation would be a Marshall 1960 AV cab with vintage 30 speakers: good price, great tone, a standard on every stage for every genre! I think they sound fantastic (with the 6505 amp that is, of course), but I only have an Eminence 15" speaker in my Fender to compare them with, so it's a good idea to follow Zakk's advice. Thanks for your advice, much appreciated Heres my dilemma, any cab I'm gonna get is gonna be used, so I can't test them out at the store. The Marshall 1960 cabs are usually around $400 used and the 5150 are around $300, which is pretty much half the price of the new ones. And many times their just as good as new, because people buy half stacks and don't realize how loud they are I was gonna use the cab with a Valveking head, and the 1960 with T-75s compliments this head very well. It shouldn't be hard to find a store that carrys these cabs and your amp; you could take your gutiar and test out the new cabinets in the store and based on your desicion you can go and buy the used version of the cab you liked most!
