Hi all,

When I have to downtune a guitar half a step I usually do it with my SG, being fixed bridge. It's easy & fast to go back & forth between standard & downtuned with that one.

But lately I've been thinking about doing that with my strat too. That strat is proffesionally setup for standard tuning though.

Would downtuning the strat half a step work fine without any further intonation/set-up?
Or would I have to set-up the trem. bridge every time I change between tunings?

Thanks smile.gif

Maybe your tremolo will go more to the right (closer to the body). In that case turn the back of your guitar and screw those 3 springs a bit more to move the tremolo back. This is only the case if your tremolo goes in both directions.

There is no need for intonation and neck bow setup when you are only going down half a step but you might have to adjust the trem like Emir said...

It's fine:P I got 5 springs, in it because I use 0.11's and normal and half step down tuning... it's all fine!

It will work no problems, as everyone said. If you have floating trem it will go down tho..

Yes it's floating, so I guess it will go down, but hopefully not too much!
