Standard Spacing is 50 millimeters while F-Spacing is 53 millimeters (F is for Floyd Rose, not Fender) It is possible to use standard spacing on floyd guitars and vice-versa but it's not ideal as the pole pieces aren't directly below the strings which MIGHT cause some problems on some playing situations like extreme bendings or so... Very well said. -------------------- Youtube

(F is for Floyd Rose, not Fender) Actually, it's for both. Heritated initially from Fender size but they found it suitable to give the F double meaning. -------------------- My bands homepage

On a similar topic, I was looking at hard tail strat bridges yesterday. Some of them have a slightly wider string spacing than others. Does that affect much besides playability?
These are the ones I was looking at: Fender #1 Fender #2 Callaham * The first fender one says "humbucker spacing". What is that supposed to mean? [edit] * FYI, the callaham can be found about halfway down the page.
