Learning Chords

Hi all at GMC

I have a question about leaning chords.
What is the best way ?

I maen i can just sit down and play a lot of chords for 3 hours but then i really dont know what to do with them.

And what chords shoud i learn, all of the main chords like 7, maj7, m7, 9, 6 11, m11, 13 etc. or should i learn some different vocings of some nice chords ?

Modes And Keys ?

Hi all.
Im sorry for all the questions there might come from me, but i heads nearly everbody said just ask if you got anything. so ill do that i hope that okay.

I have a question about modes and keys.

If you play in the key of C, then you can play a C Ionian, but what about the other modes, could you play D dorian or should you play a C dorian, ?.

Hope you understand what i mean.
