GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Level Lessons

Kris says in his feedback to the new lesson from Ben "Guys & girls - if you like this lesson concept, be sure to give us some feedback so we can understand better what you are looking for!"

I have "analyzed" which level the lessons in the rec zone have and how often the according level has been played in the year 2015. The result you can see in the chart....

Do we need more NEW lessons with level 2-4? Which style?

What do you think?

Great idea Chris,
I did put a big feedback post on the lesson page.
It's a great idea especially for those at level 2-4
I think all styles would be good but I guess rock, blues and metal are the most popular. Be nice to learn some simple to play, easy listening melodic jazz to play to granny on a Sunday afternoon

I think in REC are approached more lessons of level 2-4 because people tend to put a barrier when they see the level of the lesson. I start to avoid to judge a lesson from this point of view. Why I do this? Because when I see a higher level lesson it scares me, I lose my confidence in my skills and if Darek would not push me on that lesson I would probably not do it. If I not do it I would not raise my technical level

I'm agree that we need easy lessons from any style but I would personally also vote for lessons from 5-7 level because this will help me to make steps further. As a personal preference, if these higher level lessons will be based on dynamics and phrasing I would be forever happy

to avoid any misunderstandings... we need lessons at all Levels and styles That is one of the reasons why I am here at GMC... absolutely super!!

As Phil has already said, this Topic is especially for those at level 2-4

Here is MY opinion...

1. GMC, best place ever to learn guitar...

2. Yes, we need more NEW lessons with level 2 - 4. Example Bens new beginner lesson with level 3... direct to the heart, as the chart shows...

3. Which style? In my case rock and heavy...

Reason for my answers:

1. My "problem" (the past)

There are a lot of awesome lessons with level 2 or 3. I can play Level 2 or 3 after practising one week, but only 90 % of the piece. The last 10 % are so "tricky parts", that I often think "Is this level 2 or 3, fu...?". Then I practise these 10 % and its getting better... but I need to much time for these 10 % that the whole piece is getting "boring" for me (I hope you can understand what I mean). The result is, that I practise the next lesson without finishing the previous one...

2. My "solution" (the presence and future):

At the moment I learn no new lessons, but its good that the level 2 or 3 lessons have these "Tricky parts". I pick these 10 % from a level 2 or 3 lesson and put these 10 % in my daily guitar gym. When I "can" play these 10 % I go back to the according lesson....

So at the moment I only do guitar gym... and that helps me a lot.

So please, more level 2 and 3 lessons like Bens new lesson. I want to pick the 10% (and go back to the whole lesson)!

I like lvl 4-6 lessons the most. Lvl 2-3 lessons most of the time were too simple for me, the compositions had to be simpler like 2 minutes of playing rhythm guitar with repeating patterns. Lvl 4-6 lessons consist of more techniques, flashier stuff that sounds exciting and professional while still being doable.
