Guys. I've finally received the amt ss-20. cool.gif

It's a small preamp with a surprising tone and functionality.
The cab sim output is very good. But I tried it with some of the cab impulses - and it works just perfect. This little guy even has an FX loop ohmy.gif .
So I'm damned satisfied. cool.gif

Congratulations on the new gear! smile.gif
I'm not familiar with this pedal but we bass players love those kind of preamps!
Its just so versatile and especially useful for recording.

May it serve you well! smile.gif

Welcome to the club! It's probably easier for you to find one than those of us in the west smile.gif. It has some real sweet spots. My favorite is right where the solid state distortion starts kicking in. Cosmin is a master at getting a great tone out of it.

Congratulations smile.gif Do we get to hear some samples?

Ok. Here it is. Small one - everything recorded through the cab sim out. In the beginning i went riffing ratm style with 3 chanels - clean crunch and lead. Then it tried to solo a bit on that. Used a little modern fastverb on the clean lead.
It's very sloppy guys, but i hope you'll like it wink.gif

Maybe i'll try something with the impulses then.

Hey mate! How do you like it so far? biggrin.gif

Does it feel good when you play? What settings have you used for this tone ? I usually go with the little switch on the 3rd position for the modern sound.

Posted by: Jouve Feb 16 2013, 04:48 PM

Damn! Thanks Cosmin. You know i didn't notice that crunch channel switch laugh.gif
Volume 5 Bass 7 Middle 5 Treble 7 Gain c. 5 Gain lead 6
It's just wonderful. When i play amplutube and other ampsim stuff i always tweak something, change the fx and stuff. But here i just plug in and play.
Though i prefer amplitube clean sounds more and for the recordings i'll use them. smile.gif

Nothing to it man smile.gif I can so feel you! You just plug and turn a few knobs and PLAY! Isn't it great? I am planning on making a little video with the AMT's features so stay tuned on the Gear thread wink.gif

That's a fun setting to play with...you'll get a significant difference between that and turning up the gain lead just a bit to 7 or 8. One thing I like on the SS-20 is all the Mid settings sound good.

You guys, should try this: Crunch channel

Bass: 11 O clock
Mids: 11 - 12 O clock
Highs: 1 O'clock
Gain: 8 O clock

If you could add a reverb it would be superb - use your fingers and try to play some Jeff Beck stuff smile.gif

Try it on what COS? An amp Sim? Or an Amp?

I don't have SS-20, so i don't know the differences smile.gif
It have 3 channels, instead of 2 in S-20, second channel is splitted into crunch/lead sections.
I heard that SS-30 have more diverse sound.

Big difference for Tube Addicts - it don't have tubes at all smile.gif

If any try to buy used SS-30 - they need to avoid units that manufactured prior to 2012 year: they have buggy sounding cabsim.

Thanks for the details man smile.gif Please post some samples if you will record something smile.gif

so let me get this straight , you just plug your guitar into this and then plug this into your interface

Posted by: Jouve Mar 13 2013, 12:07 PM

Yup that's the thing wink.gif

Yes, it looks like it's a distortion pedal, but it's actually a preamp. And it includes a basic cabinet emulator so you can connect the output straight into your computer.

I will once again give my vote to the AMT smile.gif It is a very good device offering quality and endurance both for home and stage use! I have made a little movie of it:
