Can you use 32bit Reaper? I'm sure 3GB of RAM will be enough for some home-sized projects..

I could use 32 bit yeah. You know, shiny new 64bit Windows, 64 bit processor, I'd like to have it all running in 64bit. Even though itlikely wont make any difference..... Yeah I know how you feel I also installed 64bit win to match my new processor...I than I discovered that so many things don't work I got back to good old 32bit Just install old Repaer and enjoy your VSTs This post has been edited by Bogdan Radovic: Sep 15 2008, 12:06 AM -------------------- For GMC support please email support (at) guitarmasterclass.net

64 bit has to happen soon - when I wonder? I'm planning on a new PC in a few months - everything will be 64 bit, but it looks like I will have to settle for 32 bit reaper until this gets sorted out ... and as others have pointed out, its really only the extra memory abilities that are worth upgrading for, although in theory 64 bit will run faster as well as the calculations in the audio engine should run quicker.
Still, its frustrating though -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

Probably in a year or so everything will go to 64bit. I'm planning to make a transition soon, but have to be completely sure that all the software works, because there's no point crossing otherwise.
One more interesting thing to consider... 32bit system is not as RAM demanding as 64bit. So if you put 32bit with 3GB RAM, and 64bit with 4GB RAM, they will pretty much be equal in terms of what is left for non-system apps, 64bit being in just a slight advantage. So the true value of 64bit will come only with machines above 4GB RAM, possibly 6 or 8.
