Since I like getting other peoples opinions on music what do you guys/girls think of mastodon? Personally I think they are amazing! I saw them on the unholy alliance tour part II and they blew me away! I even ebay'd all of their albums

I like Mastadon a lot. I love all the albums and I'd say Leviathon or however you spell it is their worst album but still better than what most metal bands release these days.

I never really gave them a chance to truly sink in me. Since I've had Leviathan in about 4 years now, and only spinning it 2-3 times. I don't know, I should really listen to them more. I've heard a lot of good things about them.

Leviathan was alright but the new album Blood Mountain is fantastic! But I mean when you make a concept album based on Moby Dick its hard to be as awesome as Leviathan is

Ahab took the concept of Moby Dick to a new level of awesome. If you fancy Funeral Doom Metal, then Ahab's A Call Of The Wretched Sea is a supreme masterpiece.

I saw them when they warmed up for Iron Maiden in 2005. Wasn't really impressed but they're probably better now.

I've heard the Blood Mountain album, and that rules!
My favorite Mastodon song is Colony of Birchmen... it's just FANTASTIC !
