got it for 650...

here is the write up on ebay for the amp... in the pics it looks like new

This is practically a new Line 6 Spider Valve 212 designed by Bogner. This amp was bought for the sole purpose of using in an indoor jam session at a birthday party a few months ago. After the party, it was brought to our studio where it was never used again except to show it to a few interested people. It still has the info card on the front of the amp and is in amazing shape. It still looks like it should be on the showroom floor at the music store. The sounds are incredible and and the versatility of the amp makes a great gigging amp or studio combo. The technology of Line 6's tone and effects mixed with the power and warmth of the Bogner tube section make this amp truly unique. The amp has 2 12ax7's and 2 6L6's. Our chief engineer was so impressed by that he went and bought the head version and sold his old Marshall. That speaks volumes about this amp. Here is some more info I found online: The Spider Valve 212 from Line 6 features a Spider III engine mated in perfect harmony to a genuine tube amplifier. Designed by famed amp man Reinhold Bogner for unmatched performance and responsiveness. The amp is built around 2 - 12AX7 preamp tubes and 2 - 6L6 power tubes. You can choose from 12 amp models and 7 Smart Control Effects. 36 user-programmable channels save your settings, or you can play through over 300 artist-created presets. All the tones are voiced by the legendary Celestion Vintage 30. Finally you can have the unrivaled versatility of Line 6 amp and effects modeling with the performance and feel of a world-class tube amplifier. Line 6 Spider Valve 212 40W Guitar Combo Amp Features: 40W Class AB tube amp through (2) 12AX7 preamp tubes and (2) 6L6 power tubes 2X12" configuration featuring Premium CelestionĀ® Vintage 30 speakers 12 dialed in amp models (channel voices) that deliver a complete tonal range from shimmering clean to insane grind. 7 Smart Control Effects including Tape Echo, Multi-Tap, Sweep Echo, Flanger/Chorus, Phaser, Tremolo and Reverb. 36 user programmable channels 300+ artist created presets covering the greatest guitar tones of all time PODĀ® 2.0 XLR direct out for studio direct tone.

I figured i made it to 40 in a few days, i need to treat myself...

Good job!! You'll love the amp. I know I really enjoyed mine. Can't really beat it for the money. Let me know if you have any questions as I'm very familiar with it since I owned one.

Now you need to get the Line 6 shortboard foot controller. This really makes the amp player friendly.

While your at it get some ear plugs as the thing is the loudest 40 watts you'll ever hear.

Dude, bad luck I feel for ya. The amp rocks but I guess not in your case. wink.gif Hope you can get your money back, Ebay sellers that don't pack their stuff well should get negative feedback.

Man that is awful sad.gif i hope you get cash back quickly. Parcel companies really need to buck their ideas up. Try and enjoy your bday and you will get the amp and it will be great when you get it. Make sure you have a good day and dont let this spoil it.

I was planning on playing tonight on my new amp for about 4 or 5 hours... instead i cant really get into playing tonight

UPS and their 3' drop rule......

I shipped a home theater subwoofer one time and had "issues".

You'll likely be out the money while the seller makes a claim to UPS. Then after they settle with him, if it was packed well, he'll reimburse you.

Unless you were offerred insurance and didnt get it.

Then you are sooo screwed.

It has insurance on it, but it was packed like crap...Ive already written the seller an email telling him what happened.. and i called ups right after i opened the package to file a claim with them... This way they have the time the claim was filed with the delivery time and know it was close.

If the seller tries to backout and not give me my money out then ill file another claim with paypal and give him a negative remark which would be his first negative remark..

Still a bunch of bs to deal with on my 40th

Posted by: UncleSkillet Jan 15 2009, 05:14 AM

I agree bro. What a pain in the butt! Sorry to hear this and I hope you get everything worked out man.

Happy B-Day if nothing else smile.gif

I think you should read the rest of the thread sad.gif

You'll have to let us know how it goes. It'll be interesting for future reference to see how long it takes for you to get money back.

When I had toneport delivered the parcel company left the package in an alley not even near my house and didn't have anybody sign for it. Fortunately the parcel company was to blame obviously and the company sent me another out straight away after spending just 1 minute on the phone to the parcel company as they had a new worker who didn't realise you couldn't just leave a parcel in an alley with no signature laugh.gif

the box wasnt really damaged... it could have been sent like it is, but i doubt it.. looks like it was slammed down on its side and cracked the whole top side of it... It i try to pick it up by the handle the whole top comes up and almost off...
I have a claim in with ups at the moment but havent heard from them yet

Man I hope things get solved. The risk is that UPS will say they never dropped it if the box has no visible damages.
Any visible damages on the amp, and now I mean a spot/dent/scratch where you can clearly see it's been hit.

If the amp has a dent while the box hasn't it must have been hit outside of the box. If the box and the amp have damages in the same places it was dropped while being in the box.

I think the sellers Feedback will hint about his character.

I tell you, this bothers me too, you're out with a lot of money.

Posted by: Outlaw2112 Jan 16 2009, 12:53 AM

the sellers feedback is 100% and they are a music studio thats been on ebay since 2006..

They have been shipping alot more expensive stuff out than this...

I wont buy from someone who doesnt have 100% feedback and at least 100 sales

Yeah, that's UPS then for sure.

Just a suggestion, ask them to write a testemony of the state of the amp when they shipped it. Stick it under UPS noses if they make a fuzz about it. Can't hurt.

I actually had to file an claim in paypal to get my money back... I just got an email from paypal saying that they sided on my side and i would be getting my money back in 5 days... This guy had the amp and my money in his possession and was telling me that i had to wait for UPS to give him a refund before he gave me my money...

What a big pain in the butt this whole experience was, but at least im getting my 700 dollars back
