When I used to perform with my Marshall TSL Rig I found on two occasions that the tubes would die without warning either right before the gig or during. This made me sad and was the original reason for buying my Flextone II.

Someday when I focus my style I would like to get a tube amp that best suits that style (see my other random posts), but I am still afraid of not having a backup. Any advice?

Why the tubes died I have no idea, it never happened to me.

Only advice would be to keep a backup of some sort, maybe not an amp but a Line6, Zoom, Digitech, Boss thingy you could run through the PA. Something you play with at home aswell so it's useful and not just a backup for gigs.
