Mick Thompson and Jim Root. Amzing guitarists. Also, I don't know if this has been said, Synster Gates and Zacky Vengance. All of them are insane.

AND WHY IS DIMEBAG DARREL NOT ON THE LIST!!!!!!!!!

+1 for Michael Lee Firkins and Jim Root. No for Zacky vengeance Synyster gates and dimebag. Dimebag is very well known, and the other two just suck.

I don't really understand why people add their personal favourites, isn't this supposed to be about great guitarists that have done something very innovative or are just outstanding? I mean, come on, John Haughm? He's an amazing songwriter, yes, but he is definetly not a guitarist everyone should know.

I Understand what your saying, although on the topic of John Haughm, i have yet to hear another Guitarist that does the whole "Bleak, Atmospheric" style as well as him. I thought that this was just a list of not as well known guitarists.

I'm a little surprised that only one person has suggested Jimmy Page.... one of the greatest ever and certainly a huge influence on many guitarists.

I'd also like to suggest, along with Mr. Page

Tony Iommi
Tom Morello
Mark Tremonti
Brian May
Carlos Santana
Mark Knopfler
Johnny Winter
Nuno Bettencourt
Jerry Cantrell
Billy Gibbons
Bo Diddley

The category seems a little unclear ... we start with "guitarists you should know", then "famous guitarists", to "great guitarists", then "guitar wonders". Anyway, the guitarists on this list were either famous, added a new style or are guitarists you should know:

Peter Green
T-Bone Walker
Muddy Waters
Glen Buxton (Guitarist with Alice Cooper)
Ry Cooder
Dick Dale
Rory Gallagher
Don Felder (The Eagles)
Steve Cropper
Paul Kossof (Guitarist with Free)
Mickey Baker
Buddy Guy
Mike Bloomfield
Martin Barre (Guitarist with Jethro Tull)
Steve Stevens (Guitarist with Billy Idol)
Mick Box (Uriah Heep)

I definitely say no Vengeance and Gates, but Dimebag? he definitely needs to be on there, everybody knows Clapton and Slash and their on there.
