Peter Frampton needs to be added big time.

Edit: Just remembered Jake E. Lee, Warren DeMartini, and Nuno Bettencourt need to be added.

Guys I agree to add only famous guitarists to the list. Please don't add any others. wink.gif

Maybe someone could say which aren't that famous etc ... (I don't know the half of them xD)

He most definitely deserves to be on the list.

2 modern guitarists that are taking the "classic" sound of their genre and doing something new and exciting:

Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys: making blues modern, accessible, and ass-kicking.

Yummy Fuzzy Goodness- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPtYaAZlfwE

Brent Hinds of Mastodon: awesome, heavy, metal riffing with crazy country finger picking licks/influences thrown in.

They are awesome. And yes they are from Atlanta, but Brent Hinds is from my city (Birmingham, AL) which isn't too far away, and thats cool too. They played here in B'ham for their first show of the "Crack the Skye" tour, Brent's grandmother came on stage and danced around at the end of the set. It was pretty cool.
