Tapping Too Quiet?, is it my itty bitty squier?

Hey guys, new to the site, I LOVE it, only been playing acouple months and I wanted to start trying the tapping method as explained by the videos... I'm using a cheap fender squier and tapping as hard as I can but I cant really seem to get too much sound out of that high E string so far down on it unless I crank the amp... Do I just need bigger callus', or is it my EQ?

Turning up the Treble will definitely make the high notes come out more, but I don't think it's necessary. When you tap, make sure you tap and pull to the side all at once.

Tapping straight down is barely audible. The real volume comes from the pulloff.

But again, cranking the treble on your guitar and amp will always help.

It's a common problem for beginners and muscles have nothing to do with it. It's all about mastering pull-offs and hammer-ons in both left and right hand.

Don't worry about it - tapping was a nightmare for me in the beginning. Just practice it 20 minutes every day and you'll see the results very soon.

Do exactly what Kris sais in his tapping lessons and you shouldn't have problems with it smile.gif

Btw. crancking the amp is not quite a good solution biggrin.gif

I hope you are 'snapping' the strings as you pull off - it could be a technique issue too if you've only been playing a couple of months tongue.gif.
