I've heard of this Amp for a while but never new much about it or Bogner. Ready for a Shock? GERMAN!!!!!! smile.gif I thought they were based in LOS ANGELES, but in fact it's a transplanted guy working in L.A.

Like many things METAL Bogner Amps is pure Deutsche, Bogner amps was started by a guy named Reinhold Bogner. A german dude who made custom hand wound, amps for heavy players like Eddie VH. He then started making spiff tube heads that would melt faces. The culmination of his work (IMHO) Is the dreaded

UBERSCHALL!!!!!

Which can be translated as SUPERSONIC in English.

I've played at gigs where guys had Bogner amps and I was always struck by the tremendous stage volume these amps push out. They seem under rated on wattage by about half. smile.gif

Anybody actually own a BOGNER amp/head????? Anybody?????

I've never ever seen one in real life. The first time I heard of them was seeing a Steve Vai advert for the Bogner Ecstasy amp. That was years ago in guitar mag smile.gif

I've watched this video over and over because when I first heard the tone of this Bogner I loved it, just thick and bold. I ended up going with a JVM410, but now mostly playing through my Pod HD500 or PodFarm on my Mac, there is a model for the Uberschall.

Anyway, this one I believe is Bogner Alchemist...

Yea that guy is the guitarist for "Pink" and also the TV show "The Voice", I don't know much about him other than he's a MIT guy, a shredder for hire, but evidently he has recently released his own album.

I would say that I'd give my right arm to play like that, but I'd be an even worse guitarist using my toes.

I played on the Bogner Ecstacy back in the autumn of 2008, using several Gibson Les Paul guitars which a friend of mine owned. At that time, I had very little experience with tube amps (not that I consider myself too advanced at this point laugh.gif ) but, I felt it was really versatile indeed. What I remember very, very well is the fact that it was a less aggressive than the Mesa Boogie Road King that I tried that same day, when my actual band mate from Days of Confusion bought it.

It would be interesting to know who exactly hires the session musos for these tours, whether it's a management/record co. decision or whether Pink herself has the main choice.. either way, whoever made the choice has good taste !

The EXTASY is one of their top line pieces evidently and quite the rep for versatility. The UBERSCHALL is described by Bogner as 'Armageddon in a Box" so it's purpose built for high gain/metal/RAWK.

From what I gather many of the top touring guys rely on relationships established on previous tours and with other bands/musicians as well as whoever is their agent in cases where they have agents.

Schools like MIT serve as a great place to establish relationships in the industry as does Berklee college of music and such.
