Is there a link on the site showing how to video yourself playing. I have a Sony Video camera and it has an external mic input and I use windows xp. A tutorial somewhere would be helpful if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Regards Tony

For more "pro" sounding video you shouldn't use cam mic for audio.
What we do is that we record audio and video separately,
audio in some DAW (Cubase, Logic, Sonar etc) and video on cam.
Then we mix both in video editing software like Sony Vegas, WMM...

This might be useful.

Hello,

Check out this tutorial : https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/misc-less...rding-tutorial/

If you have an external mic input on your Sony Camcorder you can mix the sound on your PC and connect its sound cards output with that mic input you have on your camera so you will get everything in sync and recorded in one place - both audio and video. That is how I record my videos. If you need any more help just ask...

Hope this was helpful,

Bogdan Radovic

Hi Ivan,
Thanks for that, in fact I actually meant movie maker and not media player..... just having a senior moment.

To Bogdan,
Your method sounds interesting as well so I will try out both and see which one works best for me.

Thanks to everyone for their input, I'm learning something new all the time.

If you can it may be worth updating to Sonar 8 anyway Tony.

Sonar's a nice DAW generally and very popular in the US and some of the vsts are very good. Upgrade is around 175UK Sterling as here but you may be able to get it for less as 8 has been out for a bit.
