GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Schecter Stiletto Classic

Posted by: Trond Vold May 30 2009, 09:11 PM

After countless hours of browsing through webshops and guitar-manufacturers i finally found one that looked interesting.. other than the Jackson SLS3 (which would basically be a clone of my SLSMG).

The Schecter Stiletto Classic!

I havent found that many reviews around (but thew few i found were great) or shops that carry it and can deliver to Norway but i found a new one on Ebay, so i took a chance on it and clicked Buy Now smile.gif

The specs are good and i really liked the classic, yet original look. Hopefully i wont be dissapointed smile.gif

Mahogany body with solid burl maple wings
Neck-thru- body
EMG Active 81-TW/SA/SA 81-TW can be split to an SA
Schecter/Gotoh locking tremolo system
Multi-laminate maple/walnut neck
Bound ebony fingerboard
Matching headstock

Thats pretty much what i'm looking for.

That's a great choice Trond, although I've never tried it, it does look very cool! Basically you can't really go wrong with Schecter either!

Hope it arrives soon... then you can give us a thorough review about it rolleyes.gif cool.gif

Yea, the few Schecters i've tried have been awesome!
Only thing i'm a bit nervous about is the bridge.. Not used to floaters

That button should come with a warning smile.gif Yea.. there's been some bad buys lately..Hopefully some delay in shipping will be the only problem. I can deal with that.. i think

Nice, I have not seen that particular guitar before. I'm sure you will be able to handle the floater just fine and I cannot wait to hear you tearin it up on this thing.

Wow this schecter is a beauty! If I hadn't buy mine just 2-3 months ago, I would go and buy this one. But now I have to wait some time before GAS will be unstoppable:P

Thanks guys! smile.gif argh.. it's annoying how time slows down when your waiting for a new guitar..

I'm also buying a Schecter after this summer when i get my money from summer jobs, only heard great stuff about them smile.gif

Great looking guitar man. GAS has lead me to the stiletto a few times, I have just never clicked the 'buy now'. Hope it arrives soon. smile.gif

I'm not sure I could bring myself to buying a guitar online, unless it was something either really specific, or really rare. I like to trying the piece of wood out before I buy it.

Awesome Trond, can't wait to watch your lessons with your new axe smile.gif

Nice Trond smile.gif
I can't wait until it arrives, 'cause then I'll come and play/test it biggrin.gif

Posted by: skennington Jun 1 2009, 03:29 AM

Very nice choice man! smile.gif Don't worry about the floater, you will adjust to that just fine and it may/will bring a new dimension to your style! Weight and shape may be the only things requiring adjustment. Can't wait to hear you rock this thing! cool.gif

Posted by: Trond Vold Jun 8 2009, 09:07 PM

Yey! I just picked it up at the post office 1 hour ago smile.gif It looked absolutely STUNNING, and the little i've so far testet the EMG single coils are very, very promising smile.gif

I'll have a full review up soon smile.gif

One annoying thing though, the trem-arm was missing.. i've sent the seller an email about it.
One promising thing though, was that when i opened it up, it was still perfectly in tune smile.gif

Posted by: audiopaal Jun 8 2009, 10:12 PM

Awesome, keep it in tune for me untill tomorrow smile.gif
