So i'm thinking i should get into some more bands. So who's bought some good new albums lately, what did you think of it and what style? Today i bought Amon Amarth - With oden on our side and i have to say it's a very good album pretty impressive. I guess i'd have to say my favourite style is probably melodic death metal but since joining here i've got into a hell of a lot more stuff. So what are your current favourites?
Iron Maiden - Powerslave (28 years old in '08, but still a fantastic album!)
Iron Maiden - A Matter Of Life And Death
Arch Enemy - Rise Of The Tyrant (Melodic Death Masterpiece!)
Amorphis - Silent Waters
After Forever - After Forever
Iced Earth- Flaming Armeggedon
Incredible album, definitely get it.
Latest purchase is Engel- Absolute design pretty good if you like bands like in flames and soilwork

Avantasia- Lost in Space Chapters 1 and 2. Not as good as the Metal Operas, but hopefully the new album Scarecrow will be decent
I just bough 2 Judas Priest album, British Steel and Stained Class. Both are classic heavy metal pure of those primordial Priest riffs. Really greaat album. Definitely a must buy if your a heavy metal fan.
Beyond The Realms Of Death!!!
Ah cool quality. Yeah tried some tracks off the new Engel album but wasn't really overly pleased with it. Iron Maidens a matter of life and death is definitely awesome though. I have to admit i'm pretty hard to please when it comes to music, hence why i want to get into more bands because i'm not into as many a some people.
Oh i also tried Municipal Waste - the art of partying recently, got it lent to me. I highly recommend that you avoid it lol.
Bjørn Berge - Stringmachine(Raw and heavy acoustic blues with stomp box)
Leo Kottke - 6 and 12 string guitar(Exellent acoustic playing. Blues/country/something)
Leahy - Leahy(Everyone interested in celtic music should buy it)
Hallgeir Pedersen Trio - Wistful(Jazz with acoustic guitar, drums and bass)
Hallgeir Pedersen Trio - West Coast Blues
Tore Johansen - Rainbow Session(Jazz)
Stretch - The best of Stretch(Rock'n'roll with amazing riffs. Everyone that like rock and metal should like this)
Walter Trout Band - Transition(Havent listened to it that much yet, its some kind of bluesrock)
Tone Hulbækmo - Svevende Jord(Excellent norwegian folk music)
and a norwegian folk music CD called Masterpieces from Norway.
The last album that I got was Andy timmons Resolution album.. Randomly found it, and was looking for it for a while..
Its an amazing album too! Way better than his others.
My latest "new" album was A Matter of Life and Death by Iron Maiden, and it's pretty good! It's a bit different to their older stuff like number of the beast, but it's still a great album.
The most recent cd I've bought however is John Coltrane's A Love Supreme which is just superb.
I must add this
Epica - The Divine Conspiracy
One of the most beautiful albums ive ever heard.
JS - Surfing With the Alien re-release
JS - Flying in a Blue Dream
PG - Flying Dog
PG - Alligator Farm
Van Halen - Fair Warning
Buckethead
Electric Tears
Crime Scene Slunk
The Divine Wings of Tragedy - Symphony X

Illnath - Second Skin of Harlequin
Norther - No Way Back EP
Aborted - Slaughter and Apparatus
Planet X - Universe

Nothing in December yet. Here's what I bought in November. Reverse order (most recent first)
A New Kind of Heroine by http://www.ottosdaughter.com
Come On! by http://www.fluffystarr.com
Jeff by Jeff Beck (actually, it was a gift)
Love Letters from the Electric Chair by http://www.myspace.com/izzycox
The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust! by http://niggytardust.com/
There's guitar in all of them...some more than others, obviously. All of them can be sampled online somewhere before buying, which is how I prefer to buy music these days.
Otto's Daughter, I've mentioned before as the folks that I won my first guitar from that started me playing. They're an industrial metal act.
Fluffy Starr's some kind of odd combination of bubblegum silliness and synthpop industrial. Ok. I don't know how to describe it. It's fun though.
Jeff Beck. Almost 'nuff said. I never heard this album before and was surprised at how modern it is for a guy that's been around for 40 years.
I love Izzy Cox's stuff. I think she calls it "voodoobilly jazz". It's kind of an odd 40's/50's vibe through modern frank, dark themes.
Saul Williams..A lot of people have heard of this album already. This is the one that Trent Reznor produced and they're putting out online for $5 at whatever bitrate you want, or for free at 190k mp3. I'm not big on hiphop, but this one's different. It's not the expected mashup of industrial and rap either...Trent's an interesting producer. Worth a listen, esepcially being mostly free.
I actually bought "Best of Sting" album from an internet auction for 4 euros but hey, who wouldn't like Sting!??!
Recently I also bought Opeth's new live cd "The Roundhouse Tapes" and it's awesome! The DVD for the Roundhouse Tapes will be released in early 2008, can't wait for it!!!
Recently I've bought Megadeth United Abominations, Kid Rock's Rock and Roll Jesus, White Zombie/Rob Zombie Greatest Hits, and Johnny Cash Greatest Hits
Baroness - The Red Album
Nuclear Blast Allstars - Out Of The Dark
Cadaveria - In Your Blood
Cadaveria - Far From Conformity
