I was hoping you could help me out by doing a video lesson on how not to let the high stings ring out. For some reason I can not do this main rhythm shuffle for, "Pride and Joy". I have tried playing this song for years and failed, because the high strings ring out when I strum up and sounds horrible.

Where Do I Start And How Could I My Progress In Practice

Ivan,

I was hoping you could help me organize a daily practice routine to help reach my goals? I would like to be able to play a blues/funk style and be able to improvise. More specifically, to be able to understand where I'm playing on the neck to be able to jam with friends. I know the pentatonic scales,major and minor scales and probably intermediate level player, but beginner when it comes to playing with others.

Caught In A Rut

To whom could help with my frustration,
I have been playing for about 7 years. Background Classical and Flamenco. I am trying to play blues/funk, however, I don't know where to start when trying to improvise. I know all pentatonic scales(major& minor), intermediate on theory and site reading. I just can't put it together or when I know the key I'm playing in I will play a scale and it's either to slow or just doesn't flow right.

Could someone help with maybe a practice plan to help me make sense of how to play and understand how to put all together. I usually can practice at least an hour per day and two hours a day on the weekends.
