Matt, I should be at school right now lol
I often find that I'm either jamming or hovering around the forum when i always have huge amounts of work to be doing!

omg.. always.. i have one week to complete a case study on Weston Company ( owners of lawblaws and some major grocery stores over here in canada)... well wednesday has rolled around.. and ive made 50+ posts on GMC and gotten in plenty of practice.. but.. the case hasn't been started
Posted by: SinoMan Mar 19 2008, 11:37 AM
Lol yeah, exactly same here. I was thinking about making a program that wouldn't let me to the PC... If anyone else would like a program like this, let me know, I'll prolly get into it. No point in only making it for myself...

I'm on GMC so much I lose sleep and do stupid things. Yesterday I went into the shop to buy Guitar World magazine and when I got home I found out I had picked up Golf World by mistake
Posted by: Kristofer Dahl Mar 19 2008, 12:08 PM
Well sometimes I have that problem - but evern more often I have problems with the Intricacies of Cascading Style Sheets

Looks like I'm the odd one out - Work for me keeps getting in the way of playing guitar/GMC
.
I want to have your self-discipline!
Posted by: Smells Mar 19 2008, 12:59 PM
Terrible for it here! Have GMC open all day at work, as soon as its slack I have a whizz through the forum, a total addict!

Very long story to explain, but I`m very lucky enough not to have to worry about getting sacked, but a bloomin good ear bashing wouldnt be out of the question

No self-discipline involved at all mate. I'm just in the 'work to live' group - whereas my wife is very much in the 'live to work' camp
. So I minimise my work without any qualms at all
and that allows me to do the things I want
.
Cheers,
Tony

Ok so right now im "semi-studying" , I really should be paying my book more attention but as we all know the internet is addictive
Infact, I should have been studying yesterday but i played my guitar all-day instead!
Its not that I dont find the Intricacies of Cascading Style Sheets interesting, its just guitars are more interesting still
Does anyone else have this problem?

I can understand you,
try to think that playing guitar has to be a reward for the work that you decided to do today.... makes you feel better even when you play...
fro me it works most of times

I have the same problem. Im in my final year in college, have exams in a month and havent done a stroke of work yet! Studying sucks!
Posted by: dusty Mar 19 2008, 08:26 PM
In many ways i am glad that my work does not have internet as i would have never got anything done since i joined GMC. at home however my wife is currently giving me "evils" as i seem to be glued to the site and the forum. as this is the first forume i ahve ever taken part in i dare not try any others as they are more addictive than crack Start my post grad studies in May so will be in the same boat as many of you soon

Normal internet forums, where everyone is flaming every topic are already addictive...
GMC, as forum with people with the same interest and really willing to help each other. Well, that is beyond any control...

GMC is addictive but very useful.

it's important to keep some hours to your studies and some to your practice

Your studies being of music theory of course
Posted by: Juan M. Valero Mar 20 2008, 01:41 PM
mmm, well, I have my degree I'm a farmacist and it was not a problem to study and to play guitar and have some bands at the same time (and record my first solo album )
Posted by: OrganisedConfusion Mar 20 2008, 01:48 PM
Yeah same for me. I went out drinking, played guitar, had a band and I came through ok. You just need to focus at the right times. At uni 90% of the time you can do what you like. The 10% is where you need to do your work and revise for exams.

Always!
Just finish your studies while you're improving your guitar skills.
So you have the opportunity of a "regular" job... buying some good gear... and then become a rockstar
Posted by: rokchik Mar 20 2008, 02:39 PM
Well I'm in the same boat as Tony as my work keeps me from GMC/practice. I'm away now for work, my guitar is home and I won't be able to play for two weeks....well I'm working on borrowing a friends guitar actually. Thank god I got my new laptop so I can at least keep up with the forum when I'm not at work

I understand you a lot!! I work in a court, study in the university, have my band and, I try to play all the time I can, so... I only sleep 4 or 5 hours
Freddy Mercury will say "...It´s a hard life..."
Posted by: Pi38 Mar 20 2008, 06:40 PM
I have the same type of problem. I don't think it's a bad thing to be addicted to guitar though.
