I suppose the Drive channel is for crunch. Marketing this as a metal amp is probably clever, I don't think enough people realize what a monster the Switchblade was. And it wasn't labled such.

Nice features, USB stick for preset is really strange indeed. I prefer old school handwired all tube amps, but this should definitely be interesting for all kinds or music, probably more modern styles.
BTW, what if you insert USB stick that has a virus, could that damage the amp? -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE

Good thing there's a noise gate to take away the sneezing The USB feature is actually quite nice for a pro guitarist. Imagine you have this amp and have stored everything on the USB, you bring the stick to the studio or on your world tour and being sponsored (like we are both of us ) they make sure there's a coreblad in all arenas we perform Or you have one amp at home and one in the studio or rehearsal. You fiddle with sounds at home, store them and bring the USB to rehearsal. The only downside is that you'd need two or more amps... Hey, wait a minute, that's not something negative, I got confused there fora minute -------------------- My bands homepage

USB is not sturdy enough for gigs and tours IMO, the slot would break relatively quickly, but I guess it's a nice thing to have. The ultimate thing should be the amp's tone, can't wait to hear it!

Looks killer
Would like to hear some saples though, but can't seem to find any.. The USB is a cool feature, and should hold up if used with small USB sticks in my opinion |

You are wrong here Ivan, a lot of new digital mixing consoles use USB, we used a lot of this for the festival season, our sound presets are stored on a usb stick, you plug it into the mixer, load the rpeset and 95% of the soundcheck is done! I know it sounds strange, but it really works very well. -------------------- Guitars: various Gibson Les Pauls / Gibson J 45

No need to be sorry, if we would not have used some of those consoles on the road I wouldn't know about it either

They way I was thinking, these USB ports are a bit fragile for constant on-the-road abuse, but I guess they make them HQ on these devices, so there shouldn't be problems. I find it kinda funny to use USB sticks on amps to load presets, but who knows, perhaps we all use memory cards for presets in the future.

we will see about that But one thing is for sure: if you can store all of YOUR sounds on an USB stick this is a cool thing, if you are touring abroad and you don't have your own amp with you, you just have to get the same kind of amp, load your sounds and you should be ready to go.
