GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Your Favorite Tremolo Bar User

Posted by: Cosmin Lupu Dec 30 2012, 01:36 PM

All these posts about being expressive, made me think about the tremolo bar - a device which used with skill, can come up with a whole new dimension for your expression!

Of course I chose 2 of my favorites - Jeff Beck and Michael Lee Firkins. They are very different and they both use the tremolo bar like no other! Who's your favorite?

Tal Wilkenfeldt - she's a brilliant bass player and she is very young!

Good post C-Man. I also put Jeff Beck up there as being amazing with the bar. I would add Jason Becker to that list ! smile.gif

As always I have to toss this guy into my likes of skill.

After that it's all Dimebag for me!

Dimebag Darrell would be mine, no question.

Tama Renata....not as spectacular and rather subtle but it's great..here's his 'once were warriors' theme!

Andy La Rocque , Steve La Vai

Slav, I intentionally left Steve out of this, just because I was darn curious to see if other players would've been introduced here tongue.gif

Dimebag, Jeff Beck and Guthrie Govan or my personal favorites. Especially Guthrie's solo on the new Periphery album!

Oh yes! That one is brilliant! biggrin.gif Glad you like it man! Indeed Guthrie is a great trem bar user himself! The ending of this piece is off the hook biggrin.gif

Great clip man! Hadn't seen that one. I'm a big Guthrie fan these days, he's excellent. He doesn't use the bar often, but when he does it's very masterful and tasteful.

Adrian Belew is a good 'bar' user.
Subtle and musical, bar usage starts at 1:07: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Cr_cB8-NVU&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Lets try this again. Sorry, newbie here.

Trembar action at 1:07. Looper stuff in front of that.

Oh, good call!! Mattias is an amazing guitar player in general, and his tremolo abilities don't disappoint.
