If you could only have 5 peddles, which ones would they be and why....Does anyone use those mega peddle boards with digital sounds.

Ready set go....

1.) AXE EFFECTS ULTRA
WHY?
Hmm. Well, because it's a Miracle of technology that pretty much does everything and does it really well. Replaces a room full of gear and even the most snobbish tube nuts are hard pressed to tell the diff between it and what it's emulating in a blind test.
(And a fist fight breaks out)

2.) Wah
WHY?
Perhaps (big P) one of the most expressive effecs.

3.)Volume pedal
WHY?
Handy swells.

For the most part, I'm not a "Pedal Guy" anymore, but I was for a long time. But after a while, It started to feel limiting instead of liberating. But for some folks, like Eric Johnson for example, he thinks to many fx are a distraction and so are too many options which is a valid point.

I use Pod HD500 live and it really does its job good. If I would get individual pedals I would go for:

1. Ernie Ball Volume Pedal
2. Line 6 Delay Stompbox
3. Visual Sound Route 66
4. Visual Sound H2O
5. Wah Wah Cry Baby

I think it depends on what amp you have. Like I dont need a tube screamer with my current amp, but if I had a clean amp a tube screamer would be my first choice .

1: tuner
2: Delay
3: Boost
4: Wah Wah ( Don't have one yet but would like to get one )
5: Phaser

A Question about Wah Wah pedals. Who do you guys think makes better Wahs. MXR, or VOX ? These seem to be the big names any other recommendations are welcome smile.gif

I don't use pedals but with the software I use, my effects are:

- Very light reverb
- Delay
- Very light chorus
- Very light and slow tremolo
- And of course various degrees of overdrive

With the chorus and tremolo, they're barely even noticeable and you wouldn't even know they were there unless I told you but both add a nice texture to the tone. You can really hear the difference turning them on and off.

Anyway, if I had to use 5 pedals it would be some variation of these.

1. MoogerFooger Analogue Delay Pedal(This will always be number one on my list)
2. Red Witch Chorus pedal
3. Pro Co Rat Box
4. Volume Pedal
5. Radial Bones Twin-City ABY switcher

My ideal board has 14 pedals, though.

currently using a simulated peddle board 9.2gtt but out of the hundred or so sounds I only like 3 or 4 the rest of the time I use the distortion from my amp and the clean chanel on the amp...

Dunlop wamy.... So maybe I just need a really good delay, chorus, tuner, maybe a volume... and get rid of the 9.2gtt...

Or take the time to learn how to use the damn thing, and read the book on it and spend hours getting good sound out of it...

Id rather spend the time playing...

Thanks for the input
