hey guys i was just wondering what kind of guitar strings you guys use, the gauge, the brand, just wondering.
for my SG i use DR colored guitar strings, its rather cool looking because there red and gold on a red and gold guitar.
so how bout you guys?

On my SG I use Gibson USA 10s

On other guitars I use a mixture of different striongs depending on the sound I'm going for with that guitar smile.gif

I have used for a long time D'Addario 009-042. There was a topic about Elixir strings a while back and i thought to give them a try and the difference is amazing. After 1.5 weeks now they still feel and sound "fresh". But ...

after 1 week with the Elixir set the b string snapped and i normally never break strings, so i was a bit surprised ohmy.gif . I replaced this one with a D'Addario b string. Today it is funny to see that all the strings are still shiny and the b string is already a bit darker after a few days.

Not sure why it snapped, i guess the string was not well placed on the bridge or something like that. I will continue to try them as i really like the feel and sound of them ...

I hate Elixir strings after trying them. They are soulless. They are one of the only string makers I refuse to use now. Elixir and Ernie Ball I wont use.

Well, to each his own. I swear by them now and won't use anything else- don't like playing with rusty strings...

I prefer strings after about a month of playing. That's why I guess I don't like Elixir strings. I'm a bit like Van Halen who prefers worn in strings. smile.gif I hate two string twang. tongue.gif biggrin.gif

I use Ernie Ball regular slinky 0.10 - I used to use D'adario but had bad experience with them and changed. The cause of this was D'adario bought steel from another manufactor and that changed the quality of the strings i used to use at the time forever.

I am using D'addario's 0.10-0.46 for a long time. I switched to Elixer Nanoweb 0.10-0.46 for about a week, and although the strings don't wear out, I disliked the tone a bit (especially the bass strings). It's just too much high, together with a Strat + maple neck for me, so I switched back to my D'addario's rather quickly.

Elixir 10s on my SG, elixir 9s on my epiphone and telecaster. I love how they are shiny as new after over two months playing. Before I used Dean markley's and had to change them after 3-4 weeks.

Ernie Ball Super Slinky .009s. As long as I change my strings regularly they sound great to me. Cheap too!
