Noise gate/suppressor would help for sure.
Boss has good one,you should check it out. Do you have singles or humbuckers on your guitar? The noise is louder with singles tho. -------------------- Youtube

My $300 bass has almost no noise at all. Why?
Because it's active. Maybe a preamp would work? -------------------- I got a completely new $600 bass for $300. What a deal!

It's because of your pickups. You can reduce the noise by using your middle pickup in combination with the bridge or the neck. That way most of the humming will be gone because I suppose your middle pickup is wound in the opposite direction and this way using 2 from your adapters makes them like a humbucker(something that bucks the hum ).
By the way I have a Noise Suppressor and it doesn't help with the humming. That's the special of good ol' true single coils. So the best way to get rid of the humming is to get a pari ot Fender Noisless Pickups or any other Hum-Canceling single coil pickup :] Cheers, Hristian EDIT: P.S. You can use 2 of your pickups by using your selector switch. See it here if you don't know what is it: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...?showtopic=7852 On your Strat you have 5 variations on where to be that switch. So switch it to position 2 or 4. This way you'll have noticeably less humming. This post has been edited by Nobody: Apr 2 2008, 03:58 PM |

Because it has humbucker pickups. The kind of pickups that were designed especially to remove the humming of True Single Coils. Cheers, Hristian I know what humbuckers are . I just think active electronics = even less hum: QUOTE Here are some advantages using active electronics, which I'll explain below: * low output impedance * high level output (at least in theory) A high output level helps to get high volumes and high signal/noise ratios. In other words less annoying noise. http://www.bassbacke.de/hints/bass/soundshaping.htm -------------------- I got a completely new $600 bass for $300. What a deal!
