User-Maat-Re has prolly some of the most ADD riff ive ever heard. Riffs constantly changing and all of them are absolutley mind blowing. Drop A never sound this good, and to think anything dropped farther than a C consist of boring chugging riffs but Nile is up par when it comes to insane riffs.

Nile is my favorite band by a good margin.

Love all of their albums. I think I rate ITDS just a bit ahead of AOTW, but it is still a top 5 album for me. Both are 10 out of 10, but like you said, 1,000,000 out of 10 would be more accurate.

I love the fact they don't have to use the over the top gore or the satanic crap(that I usually steer clear of and that makes listening to death metal a bit tough sometimes smile.gif ). Not only do they have the very fast songs, like you said some are 260bpm(Karl has stated on the Nile forums that the new album will have some songs at 270-280bpm!!!), but some of their best songs are the slower, heavier, epic 8-10 minute songs.

On AOTW, "Von Unaussprechlichen Kulten" is awesome, but on an album that gets a 1,000,000 out of 10, all the songs have to be awesome, I guess. biggrin.gif

Can't wait for the new one to come out in July!

Nile rules the metal world!!!!!!!!!

WAY WRONG!!!

Death Metal is a giant community thriving with some of the most technically advanced players you will ever see!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2H76LUCBIUg
(The sound quality improves when he plays the solo)

Thats Muhammad Suicmez from Necrophagist, an intense technical death metal band, here is a full song (like 2 minutes) look at how he his continuously playing that technical lick and singing, then the solo has got some major insane Arpeggios and sweepin'!

No doubt. Necrophagist is the very definition of technical death metal. Crazy playing by Suicmez.

Great review, Im fairly new to the death metal scene, but am loving the music im hearing. I started out with bands like Iron Maiden, Slayer, Pantera etc. Then moved into some bands like In Flames, and Soilwork. Then I heard Nile and loved it, only problem is I dont know of too many good death metal bands so I was hoping you would recommend some, so far I really like what I have heard from Nile, Spawn of Possesion, Necrophagist, and Cryptopsy.

click on the "Metal Recommendations" thread in the bands an artists sub forum, when you get in there hit "Ctlr + F" And type in Death Metal, check that list out.
