Hi
I'm looking around for a cheap guitar (100 dollar budget) to buy as a christmas present. I'm not sure which one I should be looking at, or what brands are good, or any of the technical stuff so I decided to ask the professionals here at GMC . Anywho, i'm looking for a guitar that looks beautiful (I have a thing for cutaways ) has at least 21 frets, and isn't too thick (this is for a girl..so small would be nice). I was looking at the Jasmine by Takamine....and for a while I thought this was the perfect guitar... but its been backordered and I can't get it by early enough. If anyone could suggest me a good quality guitar..that more or less matches what I described, I would greatly appreciate it
Thanks in Advance!

buy it now 95.00
Thats a little out of my budget ($133 and its used)
I was considering the Jasmine because it was 99.99 Brand new with Free shipping which sounded like an awesome deal.
I also really like the shape of it (I shoulda been more specific on which Jasmine)

Hey, thats great man, congratulations and good luck in the shopping!
Off course, it is a must to try the acoustic guitar in store to see wheter it is comfortable for you to play or not. Lot of models in that price range are not comfortable, and sometimes if you buy something without trying it, you can end up with a terrible guitar. Just to bare in mind.
for 100 usd it is hard to get a brand guitar, a new one, you can find some copies, but for a beginner any guitar is good the most important thing is that the tuning mechanism is functioning well and that strings are not too distanced from the neck
and it should be a classical (nylon string) because metal strings may damage her finger tips
classical guitars come in three sizes: 1/2, 3/4 and full size, you should look for 3/4 if she is not to small
Fkalich is 100% right here, this time of year is nasty for shipping,
specially for instrument such as acoustic guitar.
Personally,I wouldn't buy it on Ebay in a first place cause guitar needs to be tried
but as you said,it's a gift so I wish you luck
I think i'll take the Classical Guitar advice
Quick question (never played a classical)
I know that she would most likely wanna play songs that are 90% strumming..and with it being a nylon stringed guitar...would the strings not be able to hold?
Nylon stings will have no problem "holding" if she is playing songs with alot of strumming. As long as she isn't strumming too hard she will be fine. Maybe buy her a classical guitar lesson and show her how to play chords with her fingers on a classical... if she is willing to put the time in to strengthen her chord muscles and tendens in the right hand.

I was looking at this one, and it looks (to me) like a perfect buy. It has some good reviews, its within my budget, and it comes in black
What do yall think?
Off topic, but what happened to the fur elise lesson by Vinod??? am I blind or has it disappeared?
Yeah Gabriela (Rodrigo Y Gabriela) strums nylon guitar strings till they weep! Strum away!
I played Ovation and loved it, as soon as i have some free money i will spend it on a good acoustic guitar. I am also thinking about Dean acoustic guitar so some guitar try-outs are on the way hehehe
Good luck with e-bay my friend
