All fine. I split the 10 days in 4 days for the lesson and 4 days for improvisation and one day recording each. So the lesson and video were recorded yesterday and I will use the remaining time for improvisation. I was afraid that if I do both in parallel and record the last day I will get confused. The bad news: I choose the same lesson that all the rockstars and tone seekers here do also.... Good plan Tom. I think that these are only great news from you. 3 days to go guys!! -------------------- My lessons

Hey laurent, please focus on quality over quantity. If you think that you cannot learn the whole lesson correctly, learn some parts of it but be deep with the practice, focus on details.

Here are my recordings for assignment#3:
The Tasty Etude by Jonathan Burgos https://youtu.be/ALq1O2nTqnM Improvisation about The Tasty Etude https://soundcloud.com/user619267345/improassign3 The greatest challenge for me was to play the improvisation in one take without too many mistakes and without forgetting the ideas and phrases I had in mind and tried before. There was a moment when I was thinking about preparing a sheet with a few tabs as help. Again had much fun with learning and playing that all - although next time I would choose a lesson more at my level. Tom |

Hi Tom!! Congrats on your great job with this assignment! It's awesome how good you assimilated the concepts behind this week's assignment goal.
Your takes show that you have been working really hard. You've learnt the original lesson and then created a solo improvisation combining the lesson's phrases with your own phrasing, making the licks of your own! I don't think that the level of this lesson has been a problem because you did what I think it's the best we can do when learning GMC lessons, in order to get the most of them. Learn the licks, understand the theory, and then use it an excuse to create our own solo/improvisation/compositions. That's when we do a triple work that covers: - Technique - Theory - Creativity There is off course more room to improve your expression techniques but this is a very important step forward for your playing. At the same time, I notice that your playing is more natural in your improvisation, which seems to be logical and obvious but that's not what usually happens with students, so great job by staying at your level when improvising. Ok mate, I hope that you keep on with this method of practice. Congrats again! -------------------- My lessons
