GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Moving To Fairbanks, Alaska

Posted by: Saint_arc Jun 3 2008, 06:46 PM

Well I am about to move to fairbanks, Alaska. So that means I should have lots of time to practice on me axe. But like who comes to Alaska. I'm not going to get to see any concerts for sometime. Any instructors from Alaska or members? I'm going to lose my mind for the next 3 years!! At least I get to do lots of skiing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh trust me I'm not complaining. I am looking forward to finally getting there. My job requires me to travel every three years to another state or Country. I'm currently in Germany and love it but ready for a change. I'm looking forward to some alone time with me and my strat................oh and my wife.

I think it sounds really cool being isolated somewhere and have all the time and space you need to spend on own development! Hopefully you will still be able to get lots of stimualtion and inspiration, through the internet!

Have a safe trip Mike,
those territories might be nice place for some new inspiration
PLUS internet as Kris said. smile.gif

Alaska is beautiful! I would think it would inspire you, ultimately. It sounds like you have an interesting job, man. Are you hiring?

Gotta agree: God bless the interwebz =)
It's gonna be awesome... If you live in a house in a deserted place, no one can complain when you practice your shredding on full volume! =D

ah man.. I envy you for all the skiing you'll be doing, Alaska sounds great

Funny how you brought up this topic in the "chill" out room. You'll be chilling out for the next 3 years! At least you can spend time practising the guitar ... should see a great improvement over that time. Please keep us updated on how your odyssey is going.

Cheers.

Hope you find your ways to enjoy Alaska, but may I ask, What in the world do you do for a living *question mark
I for one cant figure out a job that requires moving to another state or country in every three years huh.gif

if some one is wondering, I didnt put a real question mark there cos I had to format my computer and reinstalll windows and now it has some weird keyboard layout, that I really cant figure out, and I dont know how to change it! dry.gif

I am in the military. I'm actually a full time musician for the military. I run sound equipment for live shows and perform in rock bands. Every three years I move to another assignment of my choice. After Alaska I am either going to Korea or Japan, I haven't decided yet.
