Hi I would like to ask for advice and suggestions, on getting a great tone on the amp. I realise that so many guitarists have their own idea of a great tone. I have a Line 6 Flextone three amp, and I use a Line 6 Pod XT Live effects board. I generally find that when I set a tone at home at what can be called bedroon volume (as their are neighbours to consider) can sound totally different when playing with a band at louder volume.
I would be interested to hear any Idea's or suggestions.
Many Thanks

Hi There, I am a new member, that stumbled across this site purely by accident, I was searching the web for info on pentatonics, Found this site and was very impressed. Hence I have now become a member.

My Name is Mick, I am a 52 year old male, living in Oughtibridge which is on the outskirts of Sheffield, united Kingdom.

Up to now I am self taught, although I will say I have been playing long enough to know a lot more than I do.
I play rythm guitar in a band called "Slack Mammoth" we don't do too many gigs nowadays and its usually a charity thing when we do a gig. Why Mammoth ? well we are all around my age and are like old fossils or relics. We play mainly 60's - 70's stuff and get together on a Tuesday night for practice and a get together.

I still get a lot of enjoyment out of my guitar paying, and would really like to learn more. Thats why I was searching for info on Pentatonics. I feel if I can learn the Pentatonics along with some theory of what I'm actually playing. Then I would gain more confidence and knowledge and would therefore relax more when I'm playing with the band and enjoy my playing even more.

I am not what you can call a full of confidence man, and I have generally learnt my self to play and it was a big thing for me to actually play with other people in a band situation. They are a great bunch of blokes and I'm glad to say, no one is big headed or full of their own ego. Its is not a life or death thing but an enjoyment that we share. Again though with more knowledge and skill it would be nice to contribute to arrangements in songs that we play.

This forum thing is something that is also very knew to me, I have never written on a forum before. So If I have done this wrong then I will apolagise now.

I hope to use this site to gain more knowledge and take a step forward in playing and it would be nice to communicate with like minded people.
Bye for now
