Well... you're learning things here at GMC instead, right? tongue.gif
Just trying to see it on the bright side biggrin.gif

But of course it's not good if you'll fail that test tomorrow dry.gif

Hahahahahah!!

YUp they should add a warning at the front page, something is yellow, saying "Warning!! GMC causes addiction!!" or something laugh.gif

Good luck with that test mate wink.gif

Posted by: Nick325 May 29 2008, 10:36 PM

happens to me all the time just study and then keep thinking about coming on after wink.gif

You need to do what interests you. If you want to play guitar, play guitar; if you want to do well in school, study.

Posted by: DeepRoots May 29 2008, 10:49 PM

Seriously, i blew off maths a while back as i just wasn't interested. Guitar was alot cooler to me. Learning languages is just awesome so im going down that road now, if you dont do well in school because of other things you like more then dont worry about it too much. School isnt the end of the world.

Posted by: Pi38 May 29 2008, 10:54 PM

Calling GMC stupid is heresy! Hang the heretic. HANG THE HERETIC. laugh.gif GMC does the same thing to me, man. I have no advise whatsoever, because the GMC forums have taken over my life. biggrin.gif Good luck with your test.

HAHAHAHA I can't figure out if what you just typed was yourself, or me somehow hacking into your account while I was sleeping and typing that, because you just described me down to the last bit. I have a lot of weird special interests like languages like you have and always put things aside for my special interests. I am working really hard on Spanish right and now and beginning on Chinese, mostly for fun though. What about you?

Posted by: Sam Hook May 29 2008, 11:05 PM

Education is overrated.

Well, i speak French pretty well, have been learning it for 9 years blink.gif lol

Still not fluent though, so im working on it.

I actually started Japanese today and hope to get started with Spanish soon!

I actually want to pursue it as a career as well as use languages to travel around.

Japanese is unbelievable. Like 95% of translators for American businesses in Japan are native Japanese speaking English, so companies are just BEGGING for an American or European who speaks Japanese. And I think Japan's currency is 6:1 for a U.S. dollar, and if you get paid on their salaries, you can come back to America after a few years of saving up money, cash it in, be a millionaire, and retire. I am same with you on wanting to use it as a career tool and the travel thing. I don't understand how people can live their entire lives without stepping outside of one city when there is a WHOLE world out there. The main reason I am learning Spanish though is because it is so domestic (I live near the border of U.S. and Mexico sort of) and I work with Mexicans everyday, but truthfully, Eastern Asian languages is where it is at money wise.

Posted by: Bucket86 Jun 5 2008, 07:15 PM

luckily for me my school is over and i didnt have homework for the past two weeks i had been practicing.
Oh and im kind of offended by the people that said education is useless, whats so wrong with it? I have all A's and its going to get me a hefty pay check, ive gotta graduate from high school, then from college and ill be happy with my mechanical engineering degree, i just really cant see me being good enough to make a living off guitar when it would be faster to just go to college, im still going to try but it isnt going to be my primary plan, simply because of how hard it can be in the music industry, that and i enjoy Chemistry, Physics, and Calculus, maybe im just a freak, haha.

GMC are working on a new item for the site - every minute your screen will flash the following in very big letters and Kris will shout out:

Go Study

So if you ever thought the "Are you ready?' voice message was annoying tongue.gif .
