There are mobile versions of many of the best guitar plugins. If you have an iphone or even a modern Android phone, you can install these and use just about any interface with your mobile device. Most interfaces are starting to be supported in mobile platforms. This is especially true of IOS.
You can even control patch changes via a blue tooth pedal device or in some cases, midi! So a food controller and your phone could be your entire "Fly Rig". I made a series of posts about this long ago, but now that THU is available on mobile, it seemed worth revisiting.

Here is my demo of the Toneshifter interface/foot controller with amplitube on iphone. It's a killer flyrig and has zero lag in between patch changes!
