Hello everyone, havnt posted in the forum for quite some time now. Well im stuck with a pretty bad setup right now but im soon to be getting a new ibanez. All i have now is a Roland micro cube and i was looking into a good amp. I like to play mostly metal and I really like Kris' tone, so Kris what kind of amp do you use?

I now mostly use a peavey tripleX and also a Pod2.

I do however believe guitar and amplifier aren't of that big importance... For instance I really like the Roland Cube serie, even though it's not an expensice setup.

So believe it or not - but "practice, practice, practice" is the answer to this question too!

Yeah, practicing makes you sound alot better than any amp!
But Peavy has great amps known for thier murderous distortion, great for metal.
Marshall has a very sweet sound, with of course, it's famous OD channel, great for all rock guitar sounds, but can be pushed into a KILLER SLAYER tone with good, hot pickups and another form of distortion(tube screamer, or clear drive pedal, preamp drive).
Randall makes great amps, with a very metal mid scooped sound, but new models tend to be not very reliable for giging.
Krank has probably the most earth shattering distortion I've ever heard from just an amp!!! And it isn't noisy at all! But beware, it's a pretty dark sounding amp, so it's not for a bright sound.
But ENGL is supposed to be the best(I've never played one), but it's very $$$$$$$$!!!

I own a laney tube enabled amp. 65 watts. Very very impressive amp for its price.

I have a Roland Cube 60, and its great! Its a lot better than many amps i've tried that are much more expensive. So I would really recomend that one.
The cube introduced me to the rectifier (it has a rectifier simulation), so I tried the real mesa boogie rectifier solo head a couple of months ago, and the tone was GREAT, exactly the what I was looking for.
So now I have found a Mesa/Boogie dual rectifier used, almost half the price! (three channels!!) I might just buy it..

Buy a second hand Fender HotRod DeVille 2x12, exchange the original speakers for a Celestion G12M Greenback and a Celestion Vintage 30.

Change the tubes for Tesla's or if you've got more money even Telefunken's. Put a POD or a GT-8 in front of it.

Now you don't want to buy any gear for the next 10 years, trust me;-)

if u like Kris's tone maybe you should be looking for a peavey.

I'm not sure of your price range but I would definitly go for a tubed amp. And in that case I would look at the valve king series. I have the Valve King head and cab and sounds very nice. so perhaps looking at these amps

I own a crate xt65r. It gets the job done but when im practicing w/ my band and turn it up a little over 10 the feedback and noise is just terrible. Positive side: Great Distortion from good heavy death metal, the clean is nice, and reverb is superb. So if your thinking of buying a Crate, go for the GLX30.
