Lydian Riffing Question..

Hey Muris, this is a question about your lydian riffing lesson.

I noticed when you're just playing an Open E on the 6th string, sometimes you add the E plus the 4th interval of the lydian scale which is an A#. It adds a lot of flavor to the riff. If I wanted to apply this to my own riffs, say in the key of E, would I just take the interval that seperates the mode from the other modes like the b2nd in phygian and just add it on top of the E I was chugging away on?

Also the b5th modulation is awesome, I can't wait to apply that to my own riffs....
