GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Will Gmc Get You Fired?

Posted by: Paul Coutts Dec 13 2007, 08:44 AM

I swear, I spend way too much time on GMC at work, it's only a matter of time before I'm caught!
How about you guys? Are you all online at work?

I log on a couple times a day at work....I'm at work right now smile.gif I'm usually not on very long, couple of minutes or so but usually don't have much time to browse the net with my job. A lot of time spent outside the office.

I'm on all day at work practically - but I'm a PC Tech so as long as I'm busting out work it's okay. smile.gif

A couple of times at work I have forgotten that my computer's speakers are on, and then I open up GMC and the whole office hears...."ARE YOU READY!!!" ---busted! laugh.gif

But they are pretty cool with it, as long as I get my work done; actually my boss is learning to play the guitar, and was quite interested in the site - he asked me to send him the link!

I was just looking at this thread and my boss walked up to me. But I minimized it in time! Not that she would say anything... I don't think...
but, I am on GMC alllll daaaaaay loooooong at work. ( like right now smile.gif )

It's either GMC or a movie... and I just work while I listen to the movie.

and my buddy that usta work w/ me had a 360 hooked up to his monitor here. it's acutally still connected... just no xbox... I'm working this weekend. may have to bring mine in....

I'm always on at work. My job involves fixing computer problems at various locations each day.

For example right now I am on a call that involved internet problems. The problems are repaired but "unfortunately" I have to spend some time surfing the internet as a means of testing to make sure the problem is resolved smile.gif

My job does have perks..LOL

Yes, you're ALL Fired! laugh.gif

Posted by: kyldeee Dec 13 2007, 10:45 PM

I don't have a job at the moment so I can spend as much time as I want here on GMC and that makes me very happy biggrin.gif biggrin.gif hah, tho I could use the money biggrin.gif:D

Absolutly! GM at my office and have 3 terminals which GMC is a favorite at all 3. Even thinking about putting a guitar in the corner for when the calls slow down I can pick it up and jam! laugh.gif

At my work all the computers I have access too are not connected to the internet. Unless for the database where I search for product codes and order information. And a specific mail program. Anyhow, even if it was internet accessable everyone there would see what you did and all the ladies there are pretty stressed out all the time. Running around like chickens and acting like they get payed for how much they do. (nothing sexistisc about this statement. it´s almost only middle age women at my part at work, that´s all. it´s changed a bit lately though, some younger too.)

But it´s an american company even though it´s in sweden, so I guess the problem comes from there. they´re always trying to cut wages.
And the boss makes 200k dollars.
Always trying to make things more effective. Sometimes it feels that they have like 20 people just for making diagrams on people/plants preformance. And you clock some of the procedures and they messure the effectiveness... haha! They´re like "this week we only had.... x% bla bla bla.. Like we could ever change anything. It´s all in the gear and random luck. Yeah well...
Luckily I can take stress pretty damn good and I do not get very effective by all this. But I think it´s messed up. I think I´m one of the few who dares to take a crap being gone from working over 3 minutes.

So am I getting busted.. no smile.gif

Posted by: Andrew Cockburn Dec 14 2007, 01:28 PM

Definitely not!

I work at home most of the time. My nearest boss is 50 miles away, but most of them are over 3000 miles and 3 timezones away tongue.gif

I am always on GMC whenever I have time, and sometimes when I don't - no one will ever know!

The downside is that sometimes I have to travel, and spend days on customer sites with no internet access, then I have to compress my GMC fix into half an hour in the morning and an hour or so in the evening at the hotel ...

I missed Muris pick give away because I was working, I need to consider in firing my self more seriuosly now, I can't keep losing more Muris picks.

I don't really fear getting fired since me and the gang just watched the crossroads guitar battle and I show my co-workers lessons from GMC. I happen to work with 2 other guitar players. smile.gif

I spend several hours a day online. I mostly frequent GMC, and I am a rabid New England Patriots Football fanatic so I have multiple bulletin boards. I am also the company system administrator, and I know my boss cruises porn sites all day long, so he really dosen't say much to me seeing as I could get him busted at any time. LEVERAGE is sweet.
