as for the title of the thread, I am at you lesson on picking hand.
Basic question: do I move the wrist and nothing else? I mean fingers and elbow should not move, am I correct?

Thanks a lot
Carmine

Hi Carmine, yes that's correct smile.gif

If you look down at your hand , look at the side from the thumb to where it meets the wrist. Just imagine the movement coming from that part and that will help you keep the movements small smile.gif

Hope that helps

I really think that amp, distortion and compression will influence how hard the picking should be. Which setting you reccomend for your lesson? I will go for a clean sound, what do you think ?

Hi Carmine, I think you can go with your personal tastes. Picking should work with whatever tone you have so if you're most likely to play with a clean or mild gain type of tone then yes, by all means, go for it smile.gif

You are right in thinking that the cleaner the tone is, the less you can hide sloppy technique so that is probably what you are looking for.
