It's where you use the edge of your pick and tap the fret's just like you would with your finger.Check out some of the tapping lessons like williaman's .He doesnt use the pick but you can just the same.You can get a faster tap out of the pick but ofcourse there
goods and bads with them both. smile.gif

Yeah,pick taping is great for speed tap stuff,but comes hard if you want to play different notes by tap.
I tried it once as well,check it out HERE
Hope this'll help you to understand pick tap technique better.
