(pass 8.5) John Scofield Style, Lesson By Stephane Lucarelli |
|
Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.
The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: John Scofield Style by Stephane Lucarelli
Finally......my first REC submission!! Not quite "perfect", as I can already see room for improvement, but I think it may pull for a passing score. We'll see. Perhaps you'll all see some places I can improve, that I don't, which is really what this is all about. Anyway, I had a blast working on this lesson, and after searching the REC thread, I think this MAY be the first submission on this AWESOME lesson!! Big thanks to Stephane for putting this together. -------------------- Check out my awesome Nintendo Cover-band, EMULATOR!! http://www.reverbnation.com/emulator Now.....go practice!! |

Well played, good fingerwork, and good timing. Your picking is quite good here. Bending needs more work, it's a bit slow, it needs to be faster and you need to bend the note precisely in pitch. Same goes for vibrato, in addition that it needs to be wider and slower. Check out Ben's Vibrato Odyssey for more details about vibrato.

Good playing! Everything is flowing together nicely! I liked it! A few things that can be improved thou is your vibrato and bending, also there was a part that notes sounded a little bit sloppy I stil liked it! Congrats on your first recording! -------------------- |

Good take man! You played well most of the phrases, excepting some very few notes that don't sound. Comparing your take with Stephane's I can note that the main difference is the feeling and groove that he add to the take. Check the original lesson again and try to emulate that grove and feeling (dynamics, vibrato, bends) to your take.
